Wondering if this is common with ADHD. maybe not only physical media but just things in general. I for one am not a fan that everything is digital and nonexistent so make it a point to own media I care about on physical copies.

I have a huge physical media collection. I don't feel like I actually own something unless I can touch it. The only time I buy digital is when something isn't available any other way. I think in my case it's an autism thing rather than an ADHD thing since I'm both.

I certainly don't. I actually prefer digital. It's a lot easier (and cheaper) to expand and organize my digital storage space than it is to expand and organize my physical storage space.

Now, that doesn't mean I like the whole "license vs owning" shit. I just like that I can have a thing without having a thing. The thing I care about is the song, the movie, the book, the game, etc.

It also helps against the tendency to hoard. Can't fill my living space with junk if all the junk I collect is digital. 😌

Absolute opposite for me - give me digital everything as it’s easier to store and organise and doesn’t make clutter.

If so I didn't get the memo. I can't even remember the last time I bought a physical game. I think FIFA 2014 got bundled in when I bought a PS4 like 12 years ago if that counts. Don't believe I've bought a single one since. I love the convenience of my Steam and GOG libraries.

So, I'm actually a big fan of digital. My disks don't get scratched, my tapes aren't lost under the bed, and I don't spill anything on my books.

That being said, I do feel the urge to collect things, and even though I'm not buying physical media, I see merch related to it and think "I should have that. I don't know what I'd do with it, but I should have it."

Fortunately, I'm too broke to act on these urges, but I totally understand them.

Not sure if related, but I need to see everything I need for a task on the computer. alt+tab or virtual desktops don't do it for me - I need 3 or more physical screens.

Just upped my productivity a lot by having a dedicated screen that always only shows the mindmap with the todos & plan.

I feel the opposite, I wish more things could be digital. It is convenient and easy to backup.

But honestly I don't think this is ADHD, maybe the fact that it can be taken to a certain absolutist level is the ADHD part.

Well I don't know if it's tied to ADHD, I just want a copy that I can play on my laptop with my solar charger in the end of days. I have a bottle of johnny walker blue to crack when that day happens.

I never really thought about it, but it's certainly possible. It definitely makes me feel better to have certain things in these uncertain times.
