The ruling class of America have gone so far past hubris they are touching on surquedry.
Would be a shame if some sort of Greek tragedy would unfold.
The apathy will come from the meanlessness of being subservient to to the heartless business of nations.
I don't want to feel anything but human and feeling human seems to be what they want you to denie and escape from.
Apathy is born out of being betrayed and hurt repeatedly
This is kind of an apathy echo chamber tbh (not just here, other socials too). Out in the real world lots of people are trying very hard to improve things all around the globe. If you're feeling depressed by perceived apathy I would encourage you to look into organizations working to make a difference. They're out there and need your help.
There sure is a lot of propaganda for people to be apathetic.
My theory is that there's TOO much for people to care.
Remember when we DIDN'T hear about what the president was doing MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY? If one of those presidents had decided to undermine democracy, it'd be a pretty big deal and we'd talk about nothing else for weeks.
But now, breaking news rolls out every hour or two, and it's just too much to absorb. People are tuning out because if they miss 3 controversies, there will be a fourth by the end of the day. Maybe they'll worry about that one.

I think I'm over the apathy... It was actually sadness and overwhelm that I wasn't processing. I'm back.

I agree. However, it’s important to point out that the apathy has been manufactured by those with the wealth and power to benefit from it in the short term.
That and our exceedingly obnoxious self importance as a species. We think we own the Earth, but we actually just live here, and we're gonna find out real soon how fun it is when nature decides our climate is no longer stable.
