Why do you need the benefit of the doubt? Just release a good game, and people will play it, simple as.
every time i see "simple as." the kid kudi song is immediately irrevocably stuck in my head until i play it.
Early access sales ride on goodwill and they are probably expecting to ride that for a long time.
Just by using the Subnautica name alone they have more than enough marketing. We've had quite a few excellent games from unknown developers with minimal marketing that have absolutely skyrocketed in popularity after launch due to how good they were, so I don't think subnautica devs should have any problems either if their game ends up being good.
Fuck that corporate noise. You guys are asshats and fucked this shit up yourselves. Now swallow your bad publicity and get prepared to loose your jobs after this with corporate restructuring.
