In February, North Korea also started to receive tourists from the West, including Australia, France, Germany and the UK. It abruptly halted tourism weeks later, however, without saying why.

I love an article that's devoid of any actual journalism.

This might be why:

However, since the resort began construction in 2018, human rights groups have protested the alleged mistreatment of its workers. They point to reports of people being forced to work long hours to finish the massive project, under harsh conditions and inadequate compensation.

You would think that someone who chooses to vacation in NK would have no issue slave/forced labor. I mean you know what you are signing up for.

It's one thing to think about vacationing there, it's another to experience it first hand. I'm guessing that our resorts hide the poverty much better. There must have been complaints or something.

Plus, the North Korean workers can experience what other people experience outside of North Korea. It probably caused quite a conundrum, piss off the guests or have their people learn the truth?
