  • gros = fat (big)

"gros" means more than just "fat" and it's still the word at the root (or head) of the grosserie . Commerce en gros, wholesale.

also, cerise is female. you would need to say grosse + the plural: grosses cerises 🤷

He did mention he's an English native, though, he'd likely butcher the pronunciation so it sounds like Fat Cherries 😃
