So what's the best way to go about clogging up their application system and bogging down their ability to hire?

[-] Nosavingthrow@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Probably apply in earnest with no intention of signing up.

[-] Inucune@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Sign up, get hired, break everything, blame everyone else for the problems, enjoy the fast track to upper management... End goal destroy ICE while collecting a golden parachute? THE AMERICAN WAY!

[-] NABDad@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago

Not enough racist scum to go around?

[-] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 weeks ago

The hiring pool of spouse-beaters is looking kinda dry these days...

Some of my family members survived the Holocaust and concentration camps solely on care from specific guards or captains. My only hope is that a lot of people get $50K to infiltrate and fuck over ICE

I feel like you would be weeded out pretty quickly. You can't get to a position where you could do actual internal damage without committing some pretty heinous shit. LE is basically blood in blood out.

[-] CatDragon@mastodon.world 13 points 2 weeks ago

@jeffw just imagine the individuals they’re hiring.
Then realize they’re 100 times worse than whatever you’re imagining.

[-] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

Oh noes, what are local lar enforcement going to do when they run out of fascist thugs to recruit? Oh the humanity!

[-] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 6 points 2 weeks ago

They hire... wait, I know this. Mexicans? Geez, this is hard.

[-] SpoonyBard@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

And just for the price of your humanity, soul, morality, dignity, honor, and any principles, you too can be a pos for some money.

[-] Ryktes@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Let's be real here, nobody signing up for ice had any oth those things to begin with.

[-] AlecSadler@lemmy.blahaj.zone -2 points 2 weeks ago

There are only 13,000 or so right now? Jeez, it wouldn't be that hard for a large group of us to just take them out then.

[-] Derpenheim@lemmy.zip -4 points 2 weeks ago

With how fucked things are just trying to make ends meet, its getting harder to villify everyone signing up. Are they doing the wrong thing? Absolutely. Has it occurred to me that joining would financially secure me and my family? Yes.

[-] fodor@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 weeks ago

Quick question. Are there any moral lines you would never cross for money? Seriously, what are they?

[-] Derpenheim@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 weeks ago

This one, hence why I haven't done it.

[-] KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 2 weeks ago

I think it very much depends on the situation. If I’m already securely housed and have reliable income for food? No fucking way. If I have a kid who might end up living on the street (or honestly, taken from me by the state) if I don’t find money? I’d at least give this a fleeting thought.

[-] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 weeks ago

No, it's still very easy to vilify anyone willing to do that. You could resort to back alley prostitution, selling body parts, or crime before you were economically "forced" to join the gestapo.

[-] aramova@infosec.pub 4 points 2 weeks ago

Oh, oh! And let me guess, your defense would be "But I was just following orders!"

[-] deranger@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago

I see people mentioning “just following orders” a lot recently in terms of an invalid defense, but the sad truth is this excuse worked for an overwhelming majority of Nazis. Only those issuing the orders at the top were prosecuted, at least outside of vigilante justice.
