That is the joke. Kids sometimes think they're being clever and avoiding work, only to make more work for themselves

I’ve been guilty of making my own worse systems. I just have to try out my own way first to make sure it can’t be done better.

The best part is when you make something that just barely works, then try to improve it until it breaks and you lose interest.

I've done this with houseplants, but never with a lawn.
