Soooo... Child trafficking?

[-] mitch@piefed.mitch.science 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

It's not the most relevant to THIS guy, but in general, a government purposefully separating parents from their children with no means of reunion is one of the named conditions of cultural genocide.

Literally, it's part (e) of the UN Resolution, the 'Genocide Convention.'

... any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

(a) Killing members of the group;
(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
*(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.[5]

We spent so long discussing the legitimate genocide in Palestine, and yet, so little on the damn genocide that has been happening within our borders since 2016.

This is also exactly what the Trump admin has been doing to Latin American migrants since the start of his first term.

Unfortunately the article says he's 18, so legally they'll say he's an adult.

Legally they’d be right.

So now it’s just regular human trafficking.

In a statement, the Homeland Security official condemned the “messaging bill” as a “clear attempt to demonize our brave ICE law enforcement — who are already facing a 1000% increase in assaults against them

Only 1000%..? Need to boost these rookie numbers guys, if you don't stop Nazis in their tracks they will walk all over you.

Also, such brave ICE officers abducting teenagers while carrying guns, couldn't think of anything less brave.

Knowing their handling of percentages, those numbers are probably just pulled out of their own asses.

What happend to the dog????

[-] gAlienLifeform@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

When he was taken into custody Friday morning, immigration agents tied his dog to a tree and then unclipped his collar, allowing the animal to run loose on Sepulveda Boulevard, according to the GoFundMe page.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any information on whether the dog was ultimately recovered or if he's still missing
