There's a few easy solutions, I feel. One is for the ttrpg creator to come here and be active, thus making them an active user allowed to promote themself once a week. A second is for YOU to promote their stuff so it's not self-promotion, then invite them to do the Q&A in the comments or something.
Not a mod, but IMO if they actively engage with the community in discussing their product (rather than just a linkdump and go), and if it's not super frequent, I feel it should be ok.
Yea, that totally makes sense. I will wait a little bit longer to maybe get approval of a mod. In general I think it would be a great way to get lemmy out there a bit more and to draw rpg developers to reddit. The developer I have in mind is very well connected and had some - let's say interesting - experiences with reddit hence I thought it would be the ideal moment to suggest to him to check out lemmy.
i think @sirblastalot@ttrpg.network is the only /c/rpg mod really active, so tagging him for any input on the community view...
Thank you!
Hey, sorry for the delayed response, I have been traveling.
That rule originally came from when we were a much busier subreddit. I recognize it's harder to really be "active" now, with so few threads. If they want to try to be a part of the community, I have no objection to them making a post about their game. No specific definition of what "active" means in terms of number of comments or anything, we'd just like to avoid the kind of drive-by spam of "buy my game kthnxbai"
Thank you for the response! Makes sense. I will hit them up and see if they are interested. I've noticed that this instance is rather quiet but at the same time I am happy about the quality of the posts that are made. Maybe inviting designers to discuss their development process can be an engaging addition to this sub and revitalise it.
Absolutely. I like talking about design with people perhaps too much!
Same. Currently work life is busy and I feel heavily deprived. If things go to plan, I will be working on some interesting projects in December/January, but till then I suffer.
