I have noticed similar issues recently and also suspect their DNS is to blame.
Next time it happens I'll try to toggle it off and back on, it's just been a few times over a few days but it will suddenly be all of the devices, even those on mobile networks for a minute or so and then it is fine for hours.
Its working OK for me.
No problems over the recent weeks for the family.
You can check which DNS server you are using by expanding the DNS box in our Connection check.
If you expand the "NO DNS LEAKS" for the server info.
The API section next to the FAQ gives more info.
Can confirm, to a lesser extent. Each query takes a few seconds to resolve, which isn't a huge deal, except when browsing, so I set Adguard DNS within the browser.
I've had no issues so far. Response times have been relatively quick, nothing unusual.
yes, just as you described but on my ios devices so idk if it’s related.
when i emailed mullvad support, they promptly responded with “log out, then log in”. it didn’t fix anything but it seems like turning off multi-hop has helped.
i also had a separate geolocation issue around the same time but support said that they [firefox focus/google] “are using an incorrect geolocation database”.
like you, i also tried looking online and didn’t find anything. i’m glad to find your post – thank you. i bookmarked it in case you or someone finds a fix.
Yeah I always turn off multihop and DAITA on my Mullvad thing, I know it's less secure but they absolutely murder my connection speed.
You didn't mention OS, but I heard there was an issue with linux kernel 6.16 that caused packet loss. Patched in 6.16.5.
I have my network using it, no issues as of yet.
