This is great and all, but UCI has transphobic policies and doesn't allow trans female cyclists who transitioned after puberty to compete in their events, full stop. That's not a matter of fairness. Minimum fairness would at least allow trans athletes based on hormone levels and time transitioned. This is just straight up discrimination. From their rules:
female transgender athletes who have transitioned after (male) puberty will be prohibited from participating in women's events on the UCI International Calendar – in all categories – in the various disciplines.
Until people actually have enough integrity to not participate in groups that are actively transphobic, I am not going to celebrate their exclusionary wins and triumphs.
