plot twist: its the same person
except they don't identify as a person anymorre
I support their journey into systemhood 😌
Same here. I have a ThinkPad, and don't identify as a person. It just happens that I'm not a femboy (to my knowledge)
This is either really transphobic or really trans positive :p
Jokes on you, they're the same person
As it should be.
I'm not even trans, I just like the aesthetic and these socks help me program better
Men may not like it, but this is the ideal IT body.

(* They are both the same person)
Business up top. Party down below.
w life changing decisions
I just bought a T580 from eBay. When do the socks and skirt arrive?
Not trans, but soon I'll also have a ThinkPad, where can I get stickers for it? I'm looking into Manjaro instead of Arch though.
Manjaro is kinda crappy tbh, I'd recommend EndeavourOS or CachyOS instead.
You can find those kind of sticker packs on ebay and other shopping sites.(Goes for around 2 - 10 US bucks) You can also custom print your own ones (Usually hella ton cheaper)
Uhh… I just picked up a pair of old Thinkpad x130e and have a put Linux on them. If I run Debian instead of Arch and keep the sticker collection small can I avoid having to find socks like that in my size?
No
Might need a different colour. But distros are inclusive, so no worries.
i have socks but no thinkpad :(
i have thinkpad but no socks
wanna hangout?OwO
Miss my thinkpads. One was IBM
The IBM branded ones are cooler. Too bad they are ancient now. The Lenovos are still pretty good computers though
The last of the IBM-branded ones are Core 2 Duo machines that can, with some upgrades, passably run a modern Linux distro. With that said, they are still nearly 20 years old.
The last of the IBM-built ones are still 32-bit machines.
Got the think pad and used to have the socks, but no Arch. Fedora and Debian for me.
I call bullshit. You’re telling me they’re choosing some bullshit knockoff cherry red crap over arguably one of the best laptop keyboards ever created?
That’s AI man.
Mechanical switches? Ugh, brother, ugh, what's that brother?
Ascend with me to hall effect switches
Who the fuck buys a keyboard? I usually get free ones from relatives.
People who are not poor
Yeah hall effect is cool, but I demand a good old fashioned crack or pop sound when I hit a key. Typing should sound like armies of beetles with swords fighting.
Heh, I have the arch sticker on that exact spot too:
Ahh, the classic Firefox logo. How old is that sticker?
Also an old KDE logo. New, I just prefer the older logos.
what are the two things that are on top of thr arch linux logo and the bash logo?
(the rest i alr know)
(i may be using too much linux)
I am not sure what you mean by the 2 things, since there's just one, and above one of the Bash logos is just Linux and Fediverse.
I've labeled them:
That fox witch sticker is awesome, where did you get it?
The image comes from xenia.chimmie.k.vu, but it's down for a while now :(
It's archived on https://web.archive.org/web/20250524013830/https://xenia.chimmie.k.vu/
Description from the site:
A vector drawing of Xenia with a witch hat, colorful broom, purple skirt, shoes and t-shirt along with the green "Linux" logo. She's having a purple hair and the glasses. The background is fading from light purple to dark deep one. Licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Made fully in Inkscape.
Thank you!
It's the same guy.
I love this meme but I always wonder what they’re doing with Linux, like if I had an old thinkpad I think I’d only be as creative as to play movies in VLC 😔
With mine, I’m working on a few things:
- Getting better at CLI, specifically tmux and helix. I’m ok at it now, but could use the practice.
- Learning Rust. It’s nice to not have distractions when I want to focus.
- Experimenting with some alternative OSs. I’m extremely conservative with my main machine, but I don’t really care about these laptops.
- Enjoying simplicity.
I always wondered where people get their cool stickers from, epspecially the 'niche ones' like the Lemmy/Fediverse ones. Like, I found shops for EU/Germany and maybe I'm to stingy, but I don't want to pay 50€ for 10 Stickers...
All's you need is adhesive matte paper and a printer.
Optional: Cutting machine, Inkscape, GIMP
-
In Slovakia we have a stationery shop chain called FaxCopy that prints stickers as well. Rather than a limited number of stickers, you get to fill an entire page. For example, SRA3 page, matte exterior-grade (I assume that could be waterproof, they don't explain that...) costs €5.47. I only tried the cheapest paper option so far. That includes the cutting. However there's 2 ways, I prefer to kiss-cut over die-cut due to spacing, then just cut it up with scissors. For kiss-cut it's 5mm and for die cut it's 3cm.
Right, that brings me to another point, it is quite manual. You have to create the print template and cut template yourself. I used Inkscape for that. -
Stickermule. Right, so they've went fully pro-Trump, sending pro-Trump emails to customers, and now I even found they made some 100ft wide "Vote for Trump" sign and Trump's statue.
Well, so why am I mentioning them? They've got a couple of promotions of 10 stickers for around $1 including shipping. Each can only be used once, but it's possible to delete and re-create the account (needs a different phone number). Certainly doesn't make them money.
Unfortunately, the latter is the company that acquired unixstickers.
Think pad? Think again.
