The officer apparently tried to tuck a gun into his pants instead of using a holster, failed, dropped the gun, and menaced bystanders in response to his own failure

Go ahead. Shoot me.

I wonder, how many people regret saying it because they've been actually shot. Ah, yes. None. Good line.

[-] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I said it once. Felt like the only option. Luckily it didn't backfire

i hoped he was gonna accidentally shoot his balls off at the beginning while trying to tuck his gun in his belt

People need to read up on the Kent State shootings in 1970. National Guards "men" shot and killed people singing songs. 4 murdered, 9 more shot, then days later at UNM 8 students were stabbed with bayonettes.

There was an investigation, the Guard lied about being under sniper fire, most of these brave heros admitted they were scared because of rocks. No one was held responsible for a massacre of unarmed Americans.

America has a 50 year old problem of cowards with guns.

And we're still talking about Kent State and UNM today as it had a serious affect on the country. But the sad part is, if something like this happened today, a third of Americans would blame the victims. Fox News would tell lies about what actually happened. And it would be swept under the rug and forgotten about by Christmas.

[-] kandoh@reddthat.com 1 points 1 week ago

When it happened 80% of the country blamed the kids. We're actually much better off today then we were back then in terms of public opinion and reactions.

Trump world also pardon any offenders if it made it to court.

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

The lesson from Kent State is no one in this country really gave a fuck.

[-] ultranaut@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Some of those shot weren't even protesters, they were just random students walking to class who were completely uninvolved.

Like something out of a bad action movie!

He should have been injected with Ketamine because he was clearly experiencing excited delirium.
