Some MAGA supporters who paid for Donald Trump watches are seriously ticked off. The majority of reviews for GetTrumpWatches on Trustpilot give the company just one star, with some people complaining that it is a “scam.”

The timepieces are made by TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC and range from $499 to $2,999 per watch, or $5,389 for the “Ultra Mega Collector Set.” The president has been criticized for hawking them on cable TV as a government shutdown drags on over healthcare funding.

On Jan. 8 Lemme be Frank, from Switzerland—a country famed for its watches—wrote, “Absolutely horrible customer service. Do not buy any of these garbage products. Avoid like the plague!!”

“My daughters ordered a Trump watch and after 5 months of waiting have not received anything. It’s a shame this company is not holding to President Trump’s high standards. This was a present for my 80th birthday!” wrote one MAGA supporter on July 14.

Nope, no intelligence was found here.

[-] fartographer@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago

This is the closest that recipient will get to a direct interaction with Trump. The only thing that could make it a more accurate analog would be their daughters getting sexually assaulted/harassed, and then called a liar who isn't attractive enough to get sexually assaulted.

It's crazy. Somehow he has gotten them to protect his ego over their own.

It's never him doing it, it's always someone else going against his wishes.

[-] 9point6@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

I'd say that exactly meets the standard

[-] Sludgehammer@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Big "If the fuhrer only knew!" energy there.

[-] stoly@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

ROFLOL "But those things they kept saying about bad business practices applied to other people and not me".

[-] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 17 points 2 months ago

And yet they still won't recognise that he's a con artist. FFS.

[-] RattlerSix@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

Everybody that knows anything about watches knows these come from websites where you can design them in a browser, pick the components and have them shipped from China. Most of them had $50 Seiko NH35/36 movements. Good movements, but you can get them in a much better $200 watch.

[-] MML@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 months ago

Well as long as it can tell my political affiliation does it really need to tell time?

[-] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

It's the Party's time, not party time.

These people are un-teachable. This kind of immunity to learning from experience should be considered a mental illness.

[-] Supervisor194@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

"I wish President Trump could be notified how bad this is..."

Even unteachable is somehow too charitable. In the middle of eating the shit he is spoon feeding them, they believe 100% that he has nothing to do with it and doesn't even know about it. These people are absolutely braindead.

The mental gymnastics they're engaging in to separate "This company" from Trump himself, when the latter is actively promoting them on TV, just like he did with the sneakers sold by yet another opaque shell company with a complex ownership structure in the Carribean.

[-] Oyml77@lemmy.today 3 points 2 months ago

I listened to an interview with a Trump-voting farmer who was suffering because of tariffs. She knew tariffs were the problem. She stated repeatedly that tariffs were the problem. She could not bring herself to the logical endpoint in that ultimately this was Trump's fault, instead blaming "the government" for it. They are not ever going to be productive members of society unless they can be deprogrammed from the cult.

So granny doesn't get a gift for her birthday, and the little shits get to laugh about how they got granny steaming about something 'not real' like this. I think I found my new fun hobby for fucking with my maga family members.

[-] TomMasz@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

Temu quality, Rolex prices. Sounds like a Trump enterprise to me.

[-] BestBouclettes@jlai.lu 4 points 2 months ago

Temu quality if they ever even ship, which doesn't seem to be the case

Do not buy any of these garbage products. Avoid like the plague!!

We all know most of these fools did not in fact avoid the plague.

[-] drspawndisaster@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 months ago

"Avoid like the plague!!"

MAGA: Okay, got it, I'm gonna intentionally buy them just to try to piss people off with no regard for the safety of myself or others.

They've been treating these things like they treat the plague from the start, actually.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

[-] ceenote@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

Fool me 10 times, shame on you. Fool me 11 times, big shame on you. This 12th deal better be damn good to make up for all that!

[-] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 months ago

The sunk cost presidency.

Great start already lol

[-] suicidaleggroll@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

They'll fall for it again with the Trump phone

[-] maxxadrenaline@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

I just saw the commercial last week. As an artist you can tell a lot about a person by what they make. Not one product Trump has made has been quality. Gold facades overpriced bibles, poison steaks, chinese hats supposedly made in america, phones and phone plans running on another cell carrier. Nothing. Hes useless.

[-] HejMedDig@feddit.dk 3 points 2 months ago

Not totally useless, he's very good at getting his hands on other people's money

I just sent the link for the watches to my MAGA cousin. Let's see if he takes the bait!

[-] Diddlydee@feddit.uk 4 points 2 months ago

No way. Who'd believe it? There's surely no precedent for this.

[-] Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

This whole situation is setting a really bad president for the future.

[-] ozymandias@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 months ago

damn i don’t want to see that future president he’s setting up

[-] MehBlah@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

These fools are never going to realize they are the fool.

[-] DemBoSain@midwest.social 4 points 2 months ago

I wish Pres Trump could be notified to what this company has done to customers.

Why does she think he can't be notified?

What makes her think he doesn't already know?

So many layers of cope.

[-] Nastybutler@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Now let me see, where did I put my empathy for the people who got scammed? Ah well, it's probably the same place as their empathy for non white, non cis people is. Guess I'll never find it

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Nobody forced them to hand money to a known notorious liar.

[-] BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 months ago

-A Free Thinking Republican who ALSO got Scammed!

[-] collapse_already@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 months ago

Trump: "I can't believe they fell for it. What marooons."

He'll probably sell them toasters that burn down their houses next.

THEY STILL DON'T BLAME TRUMP. It's fucking incredible. They're literally incapable of thinking he could do something wrong.

[-] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago

Who are they blaming? The cheap watch maker, that everyone knows makes cheap watches and shouldn't be surprised at all that the watches that they made are cheap?

Gasp what horrible company would try to sabotage the president like that?

(/s ... in case it wasn't obvious)

[-] DirkMcCallahan@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Expensive watches are already a scam. But the sheer hilarity of buying ANY Trump-branded product and expecting it not to be a scam? Truly hilarious.

[-] frog_brawler@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Isn't it a Trump watch? It'll be right twice a day... wrong the other 1438 times.

[-] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 months ago

An offset clock can lie all day.
