I think a real hobby would help with your mental health...

[-] PumpkinDrama@reddthat.com 0 points 2 months ago

My mental health is dandy, do you have any problems with it?

[-] nagaram@startrek.website 2 points 2 months ago

Not specifically. I just remember how much Thunderf00t made me an angry atheist for a time and how unpleasant that was mentally.

Looks like he's on a hyper Musk hate train now. Which while based I'm sure his content is still very toxic to consume.

And I don't wish that on anyone.

[-] PumpkinDrama@reddthat.com 1 points 2 months ago

The ideal thing would be if people stopped with the Musk spam, and praising everything he does, but we don't live in an ideal world, so I'm grateful there's at least one person willing to tell the truth about Musk out there.

[-] nagaram@startrek.website 4 points 2 months ago

I can see how you'd struggle to find youtubers who aren't sucking Musks toes if you're watching AI news people and Russell Brand.

But trust me, choosing to simply consume content that isn't so negative is the quickest way to find rational people.

I personally really like Alex O'Connor right now. He does a lot of engagement with religious and philosophical type people. He's an atheist who's just genuinely trying to understand.

Russell Brand

Uh-oh

The algorithm should already give you plenty.

[-] PumpkinDrama@reddthat.com 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I'd rather not be reprogrammed by the algorithm.

Russell Brand? The fuck is wrong with you?

A personal attack is so lazy, it doesn't deserve a proper answer. Paul Graham’s Hierarchy of Disagreement

Try and use your brain for something...

[-] devolution@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

I was trying to but your Russell Brand enjoyment made it short circuit. 🤗

[-] PumpkinDrama@reddthat.com 0 points 2 months ago

Again, maybe if you told me a reason instead of just saying a name like everything he says or does is wrong, I'd consider your opinion. Only siths deal in absolutes.

[-] safesyrup@feddit.org 5 points 2 months ago

Mybe it‘s because he is a rapist?

[-] PumpkinDrama@reddthat.com -1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Sure, keep believing whatever mainstream propaganda feeds you.

[-] safesyrup@feddit.org 3 points 2 months ago

I read the wiki article about the case and thought that being charged with a crime means you are guilty, which I misunderstood. We can therefore not yet conclusively say that he is indeed a rapist, even though many women have come forward with their story.

[-] PumpkinDrama@reddthat.com 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

There was a CEO that increased the salary of his employees and got many women pressing charges for rape against him. It's pretty much the same. People with deep pockets paying women to press charges for defamation.

Wow, a very useful and visual summery of disagreement types! Will use it a lot

Honestly, even if you're not Muslim/religious, I think you'd enjoy Middle Nation, a YT channel on geopolitical analysis and other rant-worthy topics from the Sunni Muslim perspective of a German-Irish American man. It's very critical of the West, imperialism, etc etc while exhorting people to be moral, generous and analytical (but the man might be paid by UAE to avoid criticising it, lol, no one's perfect 🤷).

Also, I recommend Jenny Nicholson even if none of your interests align with hers, lol. She's bright, empathetic and non-annoying whilst making the most mundane things exciting to learn about! 😅
