I have a couple of hairs on each earlobe that randomly go rogue and grow to like 2 inches long. IDK where they got the idea that they should do that, it accomplishes nothing and makes them look foolish.

I too have an earlobe hair.

[-] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Well, at least you've put them in their place.

[-] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

They are deviants and will be treated as such.

Right smack dab in the middle of my forehead. My wife calls it my unicorn horn.

I have a hair around the bottom of my ribcage, all by itself, that used to grow really long if I didn't notice. First time I found it I thought it was a thread from my shirt until I realized tugging it hurt. I think it was 4-5 inches (~10-12 cm).

Then there was the ingrown hair on my jawline that started looking like I had a botfly. That one was a few inches coiled up inside the cyst by the time I decided to cut it open and drain it. So...yay for at home minor surgery because I can't afford to see a doctor! Go USA!

I once had a hair on my thigh grow to at least 5 inches. Then one day it was gone. I miss it dearly.

Yes. Am a beardless woman. Except for that one recurring gnarly chin whisker that keeps sprouting up every few weeks. I pluck it.

[-] palordrolap@fedia.io 3 points 3 weeks ago

I used to have one right in the middle of my bald spot. I couldn't see it even with a clever arrangement of mirrors, but I could feel it. I think it must have been fair because it didn't stand out even amongst the apparent lack of hair*, but the root would sometimes feel like it was digging through my scalp.

Some days I'd spend longer than I'd like to mention trying to grab it blind with tweezers. On and off for years. Often got other fine hairs, but not that one.

One day I finally got it. It didn't look remarkable at all, at least not that I remember, but the feeling when it came out was something special.

Never been bothered by it since, so either I killed the root or set it right.

* If you get real close, it's actually kind of fuzzy, but for most intents and purposes there's nothing there.

Yeah I had one beard. One hair only, like an eyelash it was, not like my head hair. Seems to have finally given up though.

[-] Lemminary@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

One beard = one hair 🤣

[-] subOrange@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Mine is in my neck, that bad boy has been trying to grow longer since 2005.

I have a rogue eyebrow hair that my wife loves to yank for me when it gets an inch long.

[-] proudblond@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

I did that to my husband in our 20s and 30s. Now in our 40s I can no longer tell which one it was that was rogue because there are too many competitors… we gave up.

[-] stringere@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 weeks ago

I've noticed my grey ones grow faster.

Nipples. Used to be none,

then one,

then three.

Then three in one follicle (two fine one thick).

I don't count them anymore, just yank em quick.

I feel like it's an equation. The older you get, the more you look, the more you find! Now how long has that been there?! *pluck*

"Look, could we concentrate on healing other areas and stop with the random hairs?"

Body: "No."
