Hey Canada could you not sell ice that stuff? Thanks ☺️

[-] alquicksilver@lemmy.world 28 points 3 months ago

Alternately, do sell it, but make sure it's guaranteed to fail and become an expensive paperweight upon first use. I'd prefer your option, but I'll take mine if I can't get yours.

[-] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 16 points 3 months ago

The failure option is better because it takes money from their budget and sends it to Canada, even if it's to a soulless corporation.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 22 points 3 months ago

because ramming innocent people in giant SUV's isn't satisfying enough.

[-] floofloof@lemmy.ca 20 points 3 months ago

I'm Canadian and I disapprove of this message. It would also be nice if we stopped selling weapons to Israel.

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 0 points 3 months ago

be nice if we stopped selling weapons to Israel.

Which would accomplish nothing. They'll just buy from Putin indirectly.

[-] floofloof@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 months ago

This reasoning, "I'll do the bad thing because if I didn't someone else would," could justify anything. If that's your moral standard, it's effectively no moral standard. Whether it's an individual or a country, someone has to step up and act better than the worst.

[-] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 18 points 3 months ago

Ummm… can we not?

ICE’s Office of Acquisition Management laid out the reasons why Roshel LLC, headquartered in the Toronto suburb of Brampton, is the only approved vendor “that possesses sufficient inventory to meet the required delivery schedule and the salient characteristics identified by ICE.”

20 vehicles in 30 days, works out to $360k per vehicle.

FYI it's a stripped Ford 550, which are built in the US, rebuilt with armor.

[-] swingingmilftitties@lemmynsfw.com 9 points 3 months ago

They can only identify one vendor to fulfill the staggering quantity of...20? Smells like bullshit

[-] someguy3@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

It's the timeline.

[-] LordCrom@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

Wtf does ICE need with APCs?

Are they that terrified of normal people just trying to earn a living?

[-] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago

Yes. Racists are inherently cowards.

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today -1 points 3 months ago

They're protecting us from all those immigrants who rob, rape, and murder us whenever we leave our homes.

I've been robbed, raped, and murdered three times in the last week, and I'm getting tired of it. I need to get ICEd up.

[-] AlecSadler@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 3 months ago

Hey Canada, if you could sabotage these somehow so they're useless and ICE becomes easier targets for American citizens that'd be awesome.

[-] MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 months ago

And reported by the Independent… in UK

[-] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 months ago

America FIRST!...well, America second, OK,OK, America third, We can be fourth, that's fine.

[-] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 months ago

Any Brampton lemmings here? Anyone working at Roshel? Got a monkey wrench or a sabot handy?

Do US a solid, wouldja, and make sure those motherfuckers are stranded in the angry crowd, with freon streaming into the cab from the AC and oil and power steering fluid making a trail behind them.

[-] runsmooth@kopitalk.net 2 points 3 months ago

Purchases by federal agencies are generally exempt from tariffs.

US Tariffs - just on the stuff normal people have to live on.

[-] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 months ago

Fuck, man...why? Why is Canada helping with this shit? Fuck Carney. Fuck this entire timeline. This is shameful.

[-] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 months ago

Why would Canada support the modern day SS?

[-] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 months ago

MAGA doesn't care, they'll gas light themselves into believing Canada is the 51st state, just like they think Mexico paid for a wall.

[-] GaryGhost@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Dude they could have at least contracted out to one of the big 3 car companies. Stupid

[-] Armok_the_bunny@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Hey, Canada is an American country, in that it's on the North American continent. This could be called America first, if you want to be obtuse about definitions,

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Another display of Canadisn so called display values Carney was talking about

[-] Randomgal@lemmy.ca -1 points 3 months ago

You'd refuse and have all those canadian workers lose the contract?

That's some Trump grade business making right there

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

You are ok with selling things to the modern gestapo?

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca -1 points 3 months ago

And if we didn't, would it make any difference? Nice to virtue signal when it doesn't affect your income.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

What a trash mentality you have . It is like saying it's ok to be a criminal associate because even if there is no associate the criminal would still commit his crime. You are ok with people getting harassed and abused by ICE and think being human who care about that virtue signaler? Virtue signaling is just a dumb term used to shut other when you have no real arguments.

[-] swagmoney@lemmy.ca 0 points 3 months ago

oops i may have manufactured wiring harnesses for these vehicles sorry guys 😞

[-] Fedizen@lemmy.world 0 points 3 months ago

Hopefully you fucked up a couple of them

[-] M0oP0o@mander.xyz 1 points 3 months ago
