In 1929 someone celebrated "Kill a Colonizer Day" by gunning down seven of Bugs Malone's gang that had been colonizing Capone's turf.

Oooh, did someone get told to move his car blocking the fire hydrant in front of the burning orphanage?

[-] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago

Yes to all this but if you don't want any smoke, use the unburned end of the same match you previously lit the candle with to quickly push the wick tip down into the pool of wax to extinguish it. Lift it right back up again while the wax is still melted so it's ready to light later.

Why are airlines exempt from common-sense laws in the first place? Sure, let SpaceX and future space lines be common carriers, but let's regulate them all, for how they treat their customers and employees and the environment. Don't let Ronald Reagan's dementia continue to give them a get-out-of-jail-free card!

I have an old Chromebook (yes yes there's my problem I know) that I basically only use to do the NYT puzzles with my spouse over lunch. Occasionally the cat jumps up, and sometimes her feet hit groups of keys... Yesterday she moved the bar from the bottom to the left side. I can't figure out how to fix it. Click/drag doesn't work, neither right nor left clicks in the bar do anything at all. The cat didn't drag, just stepped on several keys. It's still usable, just irritating. I've tried restarting, even let it update. Suggestions?

"Don't care."

Not just blatantly ignorant, willfully choosing to ignore the Constitution even when confronted with it.

Good as a start, but come on guys, you've had decades to learn from Mitch McConnell how to do this! Stymie them at every turn. Filibuster everything. Make them drag the anchor for every move. Propose bills that would block them, even if they're doomed to fail, to slow down the process.

Trust me, this is one time your constituents DON'T want you to be the party of smooth-running government! We don't want to slide off the cliff into fascism!

AOC is real.

But DJT is the most fictional character who's ever existed. Nothing he's ever said, done, or been has been true.

Sadly, we're stuck in the reality that allows his falsehoods to affect real humans.

Is the owner of the company purchasing a year's worth in order to keep the price they charge down, or in order to raise prices in February when their customers expect it because of the new tariffs, and pocket the difference? While having avoided paying bonuses?

But is it really a catapult? (www.thebrighterside.news)

Using centripetal force puts it in trebuchet territory does it not?

You know how they say "kids are resilient" but really it leads to them needing therapy as adults?

I'm convinced a lot of the random physical pains of old age are the delayed effects of those childhood injuries we jumped up from and immediately forgot.
