To really commit to the bit: Make creating art your full time job and then feel exhausted and desperate for a break, but also being incapable of actually taking a break because art is just about the only thing that actually helps you relax.

I did this bit for ten years straight. Lots of lost art I won’t get back.

Are you me? I posted about not feeling happy with making music just like 2 days ago.

Were in this together comrade! If you wanna drop me a line and chat, feel free!

I’ve been going through the same - you’ll feel artsy fartsy again in no time - until then we’ll all accept you for just being fartsy :)

This is literally my life with (undiagnosed for a long time) ADHD.

It helped me to reframe it in terms that remind me it is temporary. It sucks I'm not doing what I want right now, but it doesn't mean anything about me as a person.

Plus, feeding yourself is valuable work. Even if it's macncheese.

Here's a bit idea: steal people's time, creative energy, labour, and surplus value so they don't have a chance to dedicate themselves to art the way they'd like to.

Don't feel bad about it comrade

I felt bad about not doing art, but now I discover I've been doing a bit for the past 4 years, so it's like I really was doing art!

i used to think my life was an impressionist painting, but now i realize it’s a sunday strip clown

Guess which of those inspired me to pick up a brush though!

I hope you sometimes paint landscape and wildlife, and clean water. Future generations may see them.

Yeah! I couldn’t find a good C&H example - but the watercolor landscapes watterson painted always caught my eye - that’s primarily what I paint

Mac n' cheese should be your number one priority it's the thing that holds back progress on the rest obama-sad

Otherwise I must confess that my main motivator for creation is to see other people do art I find bad and thinking I could do better, pretty toxic obviously but goddamn effective, use at your own discretion
