Hand cut Dovetails (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) by fujiwood@lemmy.world to c/woodworking@lemmy.ca

These are not my first dovetails but it has been a while since I've cut them. This set were not very good but I'll slow down for the next ones.

Very pretty but it is inhumane to hunt doves just to cut their tail off and throw them back in.

Thanks! If it makes you feel better, these were farm raised Doves that passed away from old age.

Actually they're just made of wood.

Good! So, how do we tell whether they are made of wood?

But it's superhuman that they can cut them off with their hand.

It’s one thing to watch people on the internet make beautiful joinery (Mr chickadee) and another thing to do it.

That’s amazing work; my perfectionist ADHD combined with terrible spatial reasoning skills conspire to ensure it’s a hobby I’ll avoid.

Thank you very much :)

If you don't mind jigs and power tools it's still possible to do woodworking.

A little bit rustic but they seem to mate just fine.
