The Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology (Mincyt), through the Corporation for Scientific and Technological Development (Codecyt), signed a strategic alliance with the Iranian company MDA Medical Solutions. The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, highlighted that the initiative is part of the agreements established at the tenth meeting of the Iran-Venezuela High-Level Joint Commission.
The minister explained that this action will allow the activation of production lines, enabling the sharing of resources, knowledge, and capabilities to reduce costs. The goal is to open "new markets, both nationally and regionally, with efficient and competitive production, generating technological solutions."
In the first phase of the alliance, four production lines will be established for essential equipment: electroshock devices, electrocardiogram machines, monitors, and ventilators. Jiménez stated that this will generate "significant contributions to the national health industry," benefiting the people.
Among the advantages and benefits of the alliance with Iran, the minister highlighted the strengthening of health and technological sovereignty, the transfer of technology, the training of Venezuelan personnel, and the strategic positioning.
This action contributes to the economic and productive growth of the Bolivarian nation, within the framework of the Great Mission Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán to strengthen health and technological sovereignty through South-South strategic alliances.
This step demonstrates the momentum of bilateral cooperation and technology transfer to ensure the health and well-being of the Venezuelan people , counteracting the effects of the coercive measures imposed by the United States.
In recent days, the presidents of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, held a telephone conversation to reaffirm their strategic cooperation and bilateral solidarity in the face of growing military threats from Washington in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Pezeshkian also denounced the US actions as "hostile provocations" that violate international law and set a "dangerous precedent" for the global community. The Iranian president further emphasized that Washington is "the greatest threat to international peace."
Previously, the Iranian government condemned then-President Donald Trump's announcement to close Venezuelan airspace , calling the measure a violation of international law and a direct threat to global aviation. It also recognized Venezuela's "coherence, strength, and commitment" in its current development, guaranteeing peace .
In this regard, President Pezeshkian reaffirmed his commitment to continue working in all previously agreed areas of competence, thus consolidating the 20-year strategic cooperation agreement signed between the two nations, which Caracas considers the cornerstone of their joint efforts. For his part, President Maduro extended a message of solidarity and affection to the Iranian people, reaffirming that bilateral cooperation is at its best.
