I agree with your assessment of what will happen with prices.
I should clarify that I meant he forcibly extracted a value from his victims that's at least an order of magnitude greater than anything he's offered in return, making it a symbolic gesture at best, and too little, too late.
Sad part is its effective. People will be so happy that you were there to take care of them, they will forget you were the one that hurt them in the first place.

Donald Trump cold rape a child on daytime tv and then shoot it in the face. The next day he'll ban guns to protect children and Americans would cheer him on
“..and 1/3rd of Americans would cheer him on.” While another 1/6 would ignore it or try to blame it on the libs. The centrists would shrug and say “both sides…” The people on the left would be outraged, and Schumer would OK replacing the bloodstained carpet after a few weeks of ineffective negotiating.

Yeah, same old story. Coolidge and Hoover worked so hard to get inflation down. Hoover had it down to -10% by 1933, but then fascist FDR hoodwinked the American people and cherry-picked that perfect economy! He jacked inflation up to over 12% by 1942! Some other stuff happened, too, as I recall, but that inflation, though! I guess some things never change.
