I've realised I have a whole subconscious / automatic spectrum of how deranged my eating etiquette is depending on how well I know the company.
I eat with a spoon most of the time when I'm with my partner, but would never do that with people I don't know well. Even when I'm only among people who don't care, I still find it very hard to use the fork with the tines pointing up, even when that's easier. My partner often pokes fun at me for trying to push individual peas onto the back of the fork.
I still only lick the plate when in private though. There have been a few near misses where I've come close to feeling very embarrassed 😅 although the irony is that 90% of the people I eat with won't care even if I did that.
