A person stands in court accused of murder.

The defendant says:

"I am not guilty. And i can prove this with evidence."

The prosecution, refusing to engage with the evidence, simply says:

"You do realize what you just did is murder denial. You just think murder denial is good and correct."

Also even accepting the most propagandized version of the great purge it was in no way a genocide? Like just killing a bunch of people does not constitute a genocide.

Reactionary is a protected class and killing them off is genocide /j

what you just did is genocide denial

this is what happens when you let dogmatic thought termination replace critical thinking. denying a genocide with mountains of evidence because you think it was actually a good thing and want it to happen again (ie the motivations of holocaust deniers) is bad because of the motivations and wrong because of the evidence - but this person is ignoring all of that and treating denial of any claim of genocide as bad because of the fact that it's a denial.

Maybe try telling them that Amerikkka is currently committing genocide against Canadians in Ottowa but the media isn't reporting on it. When they say that that obviously isn't happening, tell them that they're committing genocide denial.

I always just hit em with the "do you deny white genocide"

For some reason I ask, "Why do you kick dogs on weekends?"

Something about the absurd accusation just felt like it got a point across.

No, I support it. :malema-shining:

Both the USSR and China brought an end to famines in their respective territory.

How many views are you getting? If you’re just arguing with this person in a vacuum, you’re not going to change their mind and you’re wasting your time. They might not even be a real person.

This is what happened with every single demsoc and 'socialist' on that sub. This one slid into my PMs. I got 5-10 downvotes on every comment I made debunking anti-soviet and anti-China propaganda. The only counter I got was that I am a tankie. This is the state of the American Left.

Ignore them. You dont owe them anything. Let their material conditions catch up to them, and hope that radicalizes then. If it doesn't, let them live with their choices.

it's hard for me not to get the last word too (i feel like bourgeois social media really incentivizes this), but yeah the best thing to do here is obviously to just not engage. there's no point in arguing/debating with someone if you don't have enough points of unity to actually synthesize both of your viewpoints and come to some sort of an agreement.

Discussion Community for fellow Marxist-Leninists and other Marxists.

Rules for /c/communism

Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.

  1. No non-marxists

This subreddit is here to facilitate discussion between marxists.

There are other communities aimed at helping along new communists. This community isn't here to convert naysayers to marxism.

If you are a member of the police, armed forces, or any other part of the repressive state apparatus of capitalist nations, you will be banned.

  1. No oppressive language

Do not attempt to justify your use of oppressive language.

Doing this will almost assuredly result in a ban. Accept the criticism in a principled manner, edit your post or comment accordingly, and move on, learning from your mistake.

We believe that speech, like everything else, has a class character, and that some speech can be oppressive. This is why speech that is patriarchal, white supremacist, cissupremacist, homophobic, ableist, or otherwise oppressive is banned.

TERF is not a slur.

  1. No low quality or off-topic posts

Posts that are low-effort or otherwise irrelevant will be removed.

This is not a place to engage in meta-drama or discuss random reactionaries on lemmy or anywhere else.

This includes memes and circlejerking.

This includes most images, such as random books or memorabilia you found.

We ask that amerikan posters refrain from posting about US bourgeois politics. The rest of the world really doesn’t care that much.

  1. No basic questions about marxism

Posts asking entry-level questions will be removed.

Questions like “What is Maoism?” or “Why do Stalinists believe what they do?” will be removed, as they are not the focus on this forum.

  1. No sectarianism

Marxists of all tendencies are welcome here.

Refrain from sectarianism, defined here as unprincipled criticism. Posts trash-talking a certain tendency or marxist figure will be removed. Circlejerking, throwing insults around, and other pettiness is unacceptable.

If criticisms must be made, make them in a principled manner, applying Marxist analysis.

The goal of this subreddit is the accretion of theory and knowledge and the promotion of quality discussion and criticism.
