You can alternatively boycott them for genocide support.

[-] xcutie@linux.community 14 points 1 month ago

"I can excuse genocide, but I draw a line at snitching."

[-] spankinspinach@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago

Snitching has a convenient shorthand (snitches get stitches), to my knowledge there isn't one for genocide. Maybe the just don't know!!

I'm not sure I buy the McDonald's worker story, the whole narrative of the arrest seems really bizarre. (Not that I eat their shit food, one way or another.)

[-] Boppel@feddit.org 16 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

tbf: you shouldn't visit mcdonalds either way. its just not good. i never understood the hype and my guess is, that i'm not alone. from all the food the states exported mcdonalds might be my least favorite. us has way better food than mcdonalds

[-] bountygiver@lemmy.ml 11 points 1 month ago

It used to be cheap crappy food but now it's no longer cheap, it has truly lost all reason to go there.

[-] snausagesinablanket@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Mc Donald's has food?

[-] kruemel@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 month ago

McDonalds is working with german right wing parties CSU and CDU. Their leaders ate a burger there during campain and now they massivly lower tax for huge restaurants only. There are even McDonalds ads about the lower tax law and cheap food.

[-] Don_alForno@feddit.org 1 points 1 month ago

The lowered tax is for all restaurants, they just don't pass it on to customers.

[-] kruemel@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 month ago
[-] Don_alForno@feddit.org 1 points 1 month ago

Well yes, more revenue means more taxes, more taxes mean more (absolute) profit from any given tax break. That doesn't mean small restaurants don't benefit from it. It's also true for any cost reduction. If electricity costs went down, McDonald's would also profit more (in absolute numbers) than mom and pop restaurants.

McDonald’s also collaborated with Donald Trump’s staged propaganda, about a month and a half prior to Luigi getting arrested, to help get him elected for his second term. Ronald the clown begets Donald the clown.

[-] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Don't forget to hate Altoona too.

[-] SoloCritical@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Haven’t been to McDonald’s in probably 20+ years but I plan to continue not going to McDonald’s for at least another 20+

[-] DrunkenLullabies@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

I've been boycotting as much American stuff as I can after the "51st state" bullshit. The Luigi thing is just bonus.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

thank you. it has specifically been hurting a local industry [i'm near one of the statesian wine countries] and i have been able to pick up some very tasty scraps

[-] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Buddy, if you believe the whole "random McDonalds worker saw him and reported him" story rather than the government has tools at their disposal they aren't telling us about that allow them to track people, then you have a lot more faith in the official narrative than I do.

[-] gh0stb4tz@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Same. Ever since they turned in Luigi, I refuse to go there.

[-] Core_of_Arden@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 month ago

Haven't been to McD in more than 13 years (before my daughter was born), and don't plan on coming back.

[-] rizzothesmall@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago

Disney has taught me that if that were the case then the food wouldn't taste like an overcooked shit between two pieces of polystyrene

[-] JoeMontayna@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago

I stopped going when they let Trump campaign from there.

[-] ComradeRandy@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

You're boycotting it, not for their support of Israel and the Palestinian holocaust, but for the fact that an employee ratted out a customer suspected in the based murder of a CEO?

[-] ComradeRandy@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 month ago

If anyone is worried I am being condescending and looking down on you, don't worry your judgement is correct my little consumerpiggies

[-] thorhop@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 month ago

Man... Ratatouille even fallen on hard times. Smh.

[-] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 month ago

Isn't it a BDS subject anyway? Also it's super mid for fast foods, even in Poland

I boycott the Service Industry because they overwhelmingly Support right wing parties.

I feel like im donating to fascism whenever i step a foot into a restaurant.

Thats why i hate Tourist scum. They come here, drive our inflation because they pay the high praises, and after they are gone some of their money will go to the far right who fucks us all.

Fuck the Service Industry. Fuck tourists

[-] peteypete420@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

Tourists... those are just people. Industry.... yea thems the motherfuckers what need to get fucked. Fucking cunts.

[-] twinnie@feddit.uk 1 points 1 month ago

I don’t think the person who turned him in will still work there, assuming they got the reward.

[-] peteypete420@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

Gonna take this opportunity to remind any fiction reader to check out China Melville. Todays reminder is bought to you by the book King Rat

[-] TheLeadenSea@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

Ah yes, generalising an entire group because of a single example. That's even worse than most racists.

[-] MotoAsh@piefed.social 5 points 1 month ago

lol No. Racists will hate a race over zero examples. Then when one person does one bad thing, it's a whole new round of, "yep, can't expect much out of those [insert racist and demeaning term here]."

[-] choco_crispies@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 month ago

are we hating on wage workers now? is that what it is?

[-] MotoAsh@piefed.social 14 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Wage workers that turn in justice fighters. (yes I know, not all mcd's workers/etc/etc. I mostly support boycotting mcd's because it's expensive trash that enriches a megacorp, not over Luigi)

[-] ttyybb@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I thought from the story, the worker didn't even know who it was, way I heard it, a customer told them they saw someone with a gun. I don't really have a source on that, but I thought that was basically why they didn't get the bounty.

[-] Grapho@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 month ago

Hi sir my name is Civilian Nadafed I do believe that six foot Caucasian male of athletic build represents an imminent threat, if you would call 911 they'll be waiting for you thank you good day

[-] MotoAsh@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago

Huh, well, sucks for them if they did know more. Really sucks for them if they didn't.

[-] Screen_Shatter@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

Yes. One worker represents them all. Unless it doesn't benefit our argument. Then they don't.
