It's only visible on Android using special apps, not from OpenWRT next to it

Mesh or tri-band backlane, probably.

If it has any wired ethernet devices plugged in, they may need the router to communicate with other routers.

There might be a different setting to turn it off.

What special apps are you using to view it?

If your router is provided by your ISP then its like for their usage

You'll have to give more details. What apps are you using? What does the app say about the signal? Can I assume normal apps can't see it like a laptop?
