I like a New Zealand sauvignon with a platter of things - charcuterie, olives, cheese, crackers, nuts etc.

Cheese wise - Lockerbie cheddar. Anything from Orkney is also a winner. Love their salted butter 🤌

Pinot noir and Swiss cheese, or a nice smoked Gouda or anything with goat cheese. Actually I think I like most cheeses, but I'm much more picky about wines. I mostly drink drier reds, Pinot being my favorite now but used to only drink cabernets and malbecs

I'm not really into cheese (or wine), but I've been trying some out recently. Noteworthy so far been camembert and Handkäse, letting them ripen in the fridge for a bit. But to answer your question, my favourite is mozzarella di bufala.

Don't drink wine so unsure there. I like brie though! Or red dragon cheddar thing.

Wat do you wash it down with? Starting to highkey crave some v8/vegetable cocktail

[-] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Cranberry juice! I like the tartness.

I like Dutch smoked cheddar. I cut it up into triangles and nibble on it.

You’d have to pay me to drink any wine, even then I might still say no.

What drink of choice would you pair that with? A V8 or tomato juice might go down the ol' gunhole right noice

Lately I drink kombucha, blood orange flavour

[-] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I love the strawberry lemonade one. Kombucha freaking slaps

[-] Azzu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago

Wine flavor is probably proton-cachyos and cheese is 1 base battlecruiser

[-] TheCelticPirate@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Red wine, white cheese. Yellow cheese acceptable.

Whats ur favorite wine and cheese flavorz?

twitch

Anyway, I want to like red wine more than I do, but white wine is my preference. Not too sweet, not too dry. Pinot grigio is great.

As for cheese, I always check the fancy cheese markdowns to try new things. My favorites are gooey like brie, but brie itself isn't very flavorful for my liking. I've had one that was a mix of cow and goat milk, while still being very soft, and it was fantastic. Another favorite is tallegio, which is like a really soft cheddar with a thin edible rind and notes of mushroom flavor.

Mozzarella is always a favorite, but is gotta be dressed up a bit. My favorites are marinated, burrata (fresh ball with a creamy cheese filling), or wrapped with prosciutto 😋
