Brazil's Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) said it will send a large brigade of young people to Venezuela after the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.

Similarly, the movement announced that it will participate in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip in Palestine, devastated by Israel's genocidal military escalation, which has left more than 71,000 Palestinians dead and 171,372 wounded.

This was stated by Simone Magalhães, from the Internationalist sector of the MST.

The 14th National Meeting of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) began on Monday in Salvador, Bahia. Nearly 3,000 activists from across the country gathered in the Bahian capital to discuss the Movement's political strategy.

The MST will discuss its general statutes, organizational structure, tactics, and planning for the next period.

The opening panel of the meeting focused on global geopolitics and the current international situation, featuring journalist Breno Altman and Stephanie Weatherbee, an activist with the International Articulation of Peoples. Both highlighted the crisis of US imperialist hegemony.

“The world is experiencing a contradiction that will mark the coming years: between a moribund unipolar order, led by the United States, and the rise of a multipolar order still in formation, driven mainly by China’s economic growth and the strengthening of the Russian nation-state,” said Breno Altman.

The analyst argued that “imperialism in crisis does not become more amiable, but more violent, like a wounded beast . The resurgence of fascist movements in imperialist countries is a product of this crisis.”
