A reminder that as the US continues to threaten countries around the world, fedposting is to be very much avoided (even with qualifiers like "in Minecraft") and comments containing it will be removed.

Image is of a Russian missile impacting Ukraine.

As we rapidly approach the fourth anniversary of the beginning of the Ukraine War (an anniversary I absolutely did not expect would occur while the two sides were still in combat), we have seen Russia turn to a new strategy, starting late last year but intensifying in December and now January.

Russia seems intent to disconnect Ukrainian cities from the electrical grid by focussing bombing on thermal, gas, and hydro stations, causing major power blackouts across the country. Russia is also bombing substations relatively close to Ukraine's three nuclear power plants (Zaporzhye, the fourth, remains under Russia control), studiously avoiding hitting the premises of the NPPs themselves for obvious reasons. Even if they're far away from the NPPs, striking the substations does have risks, because if the nuclear reactors aren't shut off before the substations are bombed, there is a possibility that there will be insufficient backup power to prevent a meltdown - hence why Russia hasn't really attempted to do this for four years.

Most of the electricity generated in Ukraine comes from the nuclear power plants, both because of the infrastructure they had initially (Ukraine was 7th in the world in nuclear electricity generation before the war) and because Russia has bombed most non-nuclear power stations and substations already. Over the last couple weeks, we have seen Ukrainian media fly into a frenzy about long-lasting blackouts, especially in the middle of winter. After the Zionist entity destroyed virtually all civilian infrastructure in Gaza while the West cheered on, they now appear to have changed their mind on whether such strikes are an effective and humanitarian option to subject millions of people to.

Regardless of whether you personally believe these Russian strikes are justified (I'm pretty iffy myself), it must be stressed that Ukraine has been bombing Russian tankers and oil refineries and power stations for a long time now, so in a sense, this is a retaliation. It's also remarkable, compared to Western wars, that Ukraine was even still allowed to possess a functioning electrical grid for nearly four years into a war of this magnitude. That all being said, while Ukrainian strikes have been somewhat but not overly impactful on the Russian oil sector, the response is clearly very asymmetrical: Ukraine's power grid is, according to Ukrainian energy corporations, now 70% degraded and is virtually impossible to now repair, and blackouts can last most of the day.

For everybody's sake, I hope a ceasefire and peace deal will be reached soon. But after four years of seeing opportunities for an end to this war squandered over and over, I'm not holding my breath.

So last Friday we saw a general strike in Minneapolis - the first such action in the US in 80 years. This Friday? PSL has assessed there is the opportunity for a nationwide one-day general strike. Branches across the country are going to be mobilized based on the lessons from last week to immediately massify this call. Shit's going down.

Mexico will maintain oil shipments to Cuba: Sheinbaum - Tiempo

Article

President Claudia Sheinbaum clarified that PEMEX decided to halt oil shipments due to contract issues; however, humanitarian aid will continue as Mexico has been providing it for years.

During her morning press conference, the president clarified that the confusion arose after the publication of a news article that misinterpreted a supposed suspension. “I never said it had been suspended,” she emphasized.

He explained that, on the one hand, Petróleos Mexicanos maintains commercial contracts with the Cuban government, where delivery times and volumes are determined according to the contractual terms. On the other hand, he explained that Mexico also sends fuel as humanitarian aid, as it does with other countries facing energy emergencies or crises.

Sheinbaum emphasized that humanitarian aid to Cuba continues, and that Mexican foreign policy is governed by historical principles of sovereignty, solidarity, and non-intervention. “Mexico has always stood in solidarity with the peoples of the world, and these are sovereign decisions,” she stated.

Finally, he reiterated that any decision related to Pemex contracts responds to technical and commercial criteria, while humanitarian assistance is maintained based on specific requests and needs.

https://xcancel.com/ArmchairW/status/2016380234354847744

Last week the Iranian government disclosed that 2,427 civilians and members of the security services and 690 insurgents were killed in the "riots" earlier this month, which recontextualizes what actually occurred - and explains the push to "manifest" a new Iranian government. Allow me to explain some insurgency theory. A "conventional" insurgency, as we saw in Vietnam, basically follows five phases per Galula:

  1. Creation of the insurgent party
  2. Cooption of all other opposition groups
  3. Guerilla war
  4. Conventional war
  5. Final overthrow of the government

This is the standard model of revolution by insurgency as used by the East Asian communist movements - China, Vietnam, et cetera. Critically, it involves the parallel creation of a communist state at the same time as the extant state is destroyed - the insurgent leaders will arrive at the abandoned government palace, sit down at the former El Presidente's desk, and can immediately set about governing the country in an orderly way through the apparatus of the Party that is now spread root and stem through society at large. There is, however, an alternative method if you just want to seize power and don't care so much about governing anything. Galula refers to it as the "bourgeois-nationalist shortcut" method, and it's quite simple - the insurgent party replaces the years of boring organization and coalition-building in Phases 1 and 2 with a few weeks of MASS TERRORISM.

more

If the target state falters and fails to crush the insurrectionists during this critical stage, the insurgents will be able to rapidly organize a guerilla army using their newfound notoriety and political power and proceed to go about fighting the revolutionary war and eventually overthrowing the government. There won't be a state apparatus left afterwards to let the revolutionaries govern anything, but generally the kind of people who use these methods don't really care about little things like that.

There is a critical drawback to this model, however - if the state doesn't buckle and cracks down effectively during the key terrorism phase, the insurgency is doomed. Unlike the communist model, in this phase the insurgency isn't a broad-based social movement that can withstand official sanctions - it's a plot involving a few hundred heavily-armed maniacs who can simply be killed by the police.

So how does this tie into Iran? Well, earlier this month organic protests about economic issues were hijacked by heavily-armed insurgents who proclaimed their general opposition to the government, fought running gun battles with police, caused a shocking amount of property damage, and attempted to organize public support for their movement via an intense social media push - all of this with some success! Then the Iranian government cracked down hard and the insurrection collapsed. All of this ties exactly into the model of a bourgeois-nationalist "terrorist insurgency" which was defeated during its period of maximum vulnerability - the terrorism phase itself - by a robust and agile state opponent. It also explains the sudden and massive push in the West to recognize the insurgency as a rival Iranian government almost immediately - all of this was very clearly orchestrated by Western interests (read: Mossad), and this insurrection had the clear aim of either overthrowing the Iranian government outright or starting a civil war in Iran. The people pushing to change the Iranian flag emoji on this website (which remains as the pre-1979 flag to this day) absolutely knew what their intended end-state was.

The key thing to realize is that the bourgeois-nationalist insurgency method does not require a large network and mass popular support. It requires a few hundred - or even a few dozen - hard men with guns, and a capable PR team capable of getting people behind the insurgents so as to build a mass movement and support for guerilla war overnight. This is what Mossad et al. was trying to do in Iran earlier this month, and that was in all likelihood the actual extent of their remaining attack network in the country after much of it was dismantled during and after the Twelve Days' War.

The incidence of skin-tested sensitivity to olive pollen allergens among subjects with suspected atopic respiratory allergy was investigated in various populations of Israelis. This incidence was correlated with the olive cultivars, with the abundance of trees in the patients' neighborhoods, and with the history of exposure of the studied populations to olive pollen. Positive skin reactions to olive pollen, among atopic patients of the Jewish population, is rather high where olive trees are abundant (66%), and lower (29%) where trees are scarce (P<0.003). Sensitization was significantly lower (P< 0.003) among a population of Israeli atopic Arabs (16%), though these Arabs have lived in an olive-rich area for several generations.

Lots of US military movements over the past 24 hours in the build-up against Iran.

I'll give a quick summary now and add sources later

Weather has improved and C-17 Globemaster III transport/airlift aircraft have begun transferring presumably air defence equipment again, from Fort Hood and some from Fort Bliss, both in Texas, United States. Fort Hood is home to 2x THAAD batteries and 3x PATRIOT battalions. Fort Bliss is home to 3x PATRIOT battalions, 1x headquarters PATRIOT battalion, 3x THAAD batteries and an IBCS unit.

US tactical fighters are on the move, the 6x EA-18G Growlers that moved from Puerto Rico yesterday are currently crossing the Atlantic, along with 12x F-35As from the Vermont Air National Guard currently deployed to Puerto Rico, they're going straight over the Atlantic too. This is a squadron that specialises in the suppression of air defences, and has been involved in previous airstrikes on Iran and Venezuela.

Looking at US assets forward deployed, they've essentially turned their air base in Jordan into an aircraft carrier, with similar levels of firepower and force structure, and incoming defences. Also allows attacks from two different directions. Likely because the US cannot deploy another aircraft carrier now with the needed firepower, the USS Gerald Ford doesn't have F-35s and EA-18Gs with NGJ pods. The USS George Washington is in Japan.

USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group, tactical fighters:

  • 36x F/A-18 Super Hornets, in three strike squadrons.
  • 12x F-35Cs, in one strike squadron.
  • 6x EA-18G Growlers with NGJ pods, in one electronic attack squadron

US tactical fighters forward deployed to Jordan in the last few weeks:

  • 36x F-15E Strike Eagles.
  • 12x F-35As from the Vermont Air National Guard.
  • 6x EA-18G Growlers with NGJ pods.

Additional US airpower in the Middle East region (they arrived months ago):

  • 12x A-10C.
  • 12x F-16CM from Aviano air base.

That would be around 130 tactical fighters currently ready or crossing the Atlantic ocean. With a sizeable amount of specialised suppression and destruction of enemy air defences (SEAD/DEAD) units available, 24x F-35s and 12x EA-18G with NGJ pods.

Source, that covers everything in the original tweet, quote tweet and replies

In addition to all this, 2x B-52H Stratofortress bombers are currently over the Pacific, they departed Fairchild AFB earlier this morning. The US often deploys bombers to the Pacific when escalating military activity in other parts of the world.

The US Navy has posted pictures of them loading the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Delbert D. Black with munitions. This ship is currently in the Red Sea. Through the process of elimination and publicly available documents, we can work out exactly what they loaded into the ship's Mk 41 VLS, instead of random guesses.

The picture:

First, there's the size of this canister. It's height means that it must be a MK 14 or MK 21 canister, it's too tall otherwise. While some of the names of the munitions are outdated here, MK 14 is still for the Tomahawk. MK 21 is used with the SM-6 and SM-3 variants of missiles. So we know now that it's one of those three.

To narrow it down further, we can look at the NALC (Navy Ammunition Logistics) code, which is the same as the DODIC (Department of Defense Identification Code ). The NALC is unblurred in the original photograph: 3544. If we look that up on the Hazard Classification of Us Military Explosives and Munitions "Yellow Book" (publicly available, it's even an app), DODIC 3544 = TOMAHAWK, BLK IV, RGM-109E. Known as the Tactical Tomahawk, a land attack cruise missile with a two way datalink capable of re-targeting in flight to hit stationary, mobile, or pop up targets, and loitering over an area.

So a US Navy destroyer is currently in the Red Sea armed with advanced Tomahawk cruise missiles. Something that you could probably guess, but it's always good to double check instead of guessing. SM-6 is 6400-6425, SM-3 is 6201.

I hope this is higher quality information than some clickbait twitter/telegram account going "look at big missile loaded on ship, strikes imminent" or something along those lines.

Another report regarding Russian and Chinese military supplies being delivered to Iran:

According to several sources, amid US-fueled tensions around Iran, military supplies from China and Russia are actively arriving in the Islamic Republic. Chinese military supplies are being delivered both by air on military transport aircraft and by land via Pakistan. At the same time, at least four Russian transport aircraft have arrived in Iran in recent days: three An-124-100s and a special Il-76TD aircraft. Bill Gates (allegedly) caught an STD from Epstein island, gave it to Melinda, then asked Epstein for antibiotics to give Melinda without her knowledge or consent

https://www.cbsnews.com/live-updates/epstein-files-released-doj-2026/

Article Summary

Two emails Jeffrey Epstein sent to himself on July 18, 2013, contain unverified allegations that Bill Gates had extramarital "sex with Russian girls" that resulted in a sexually transmitted infection requiring antibiotics.

In one email, Epstein claimed Gates also sought to "surreptitiously give" the antibiotics to Melinda Gates.

he said, "I have been asked and wrongly acquiesced into participating in things that have ranged from the morally inappropriate, to the ethically unsound and have been repeatedly asked to do thing (sic) that get near and potentially over the line into the illegal...From helping Bill to get drugs, in order to deal with consequences of sex with russian girls, to facilitating his illicit trusts, with married women, to being asked to provide adderall fro (sic) bridge touramnts (sic), as I am a medial (sic) doctor, but have no presriptions (sic) writing ability."

A spokesperson for Bill Gates told CBS News, "These claims are absolutely absurd and completely false. The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein's frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame."

The email

The email was a draft email, not sent, and apparently written by Epstein in support of an employee who was fired from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%209/EFTA00965766.pdf

I will have ti diligently avoid the truth, tell people that bill will not invest with me , and craft and answer that suits your needs. but you did agree to send you a letter of recommendation should a future employer ask for one. You have told me that Melinda insists , on me not communicating with you unless Larry is copied or present. Though you have consistently maintained that I could not have done a better job, and that i was underpaid compared to my contribution, you then beyond all sense of fairness, and frankly decency , said that as "generous" compensation for keeping the gates reputation intact, you would , let me keep what we agreed I had already owned ( the investment pieces) and give me 2 years severance . similar to Christine Turner. another casualty . IF the shoe was on the other foot I would have said, Boris, this is not your fault. , I ,confessed to Melinda, you didn't,- It was in a moment of weakness , and I will do anything within my power to make it right for you. I have more money than anyone needs and I assure you I will structure something so that you will not be penalized for my error . Lucky for me I have enough money to provide to you , though it will not heal the injury , it will make you secure in your future, In addition I will bend over backwards, to make sure your next career is rewarding and on an upswing. I appreciate the fact that this drastically alters your plans and am very aware of the career path you gave up to join the Foundation. I am very sorry, but as I believe time heals all wounds, this will eventually pass. I haven’t seen it mentioned but Guatemala is currently in a “state of siege.” There’s been a number of prison riots in the capital. Schools across the country have been cancelled but I still go to work everyday lmao

I’m also not surprised by this. I call Arevalo “cucky” for a reason. We’re most likely going to get a Bukele-influenced president after him.

South Africa is expelling Israel’s envoy to the country, the foreign affairs ministry announced, accusing the Israeli official of engaging in “unacceptable violations of diplomatic norms” that challenge South African sovereignty.

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation said on Friday that it was giving Ariel Seidman, the charge d’affaires at the Israeli embassy, 72 hours to leave South Africa after declaring him persona non grata.

Is there anything I can do in America to help Cuba other than loading up a boat with as much gasoline as I can and sailing toward Havana? I'm tired of feeling helpless.

Resistance factions condemn the escalating violations of the ceasefire and the targeting of the Sheikh Radwan police station.

Factions issued statements denouncing the wave of zionist airstrikes on police and displacement tents. The attacks resulted in 31 martyrs so far, a flagrant attempt to sabotage the ceasefire and evade the obligations of its second phase.

Hamas stated that four months after the signing, the occupation continues its war of genocide, proving its disregard for the mediators. They called on the guarantors to immediately intervene to stop the undermining of the agreement.

PIJ described the escalation as a calculated effort to "impose security realities" on the ground to avoid the commitments of the second phase. They accused the U.S. of shielding war criminals from prosecution, encouraging them to violate all human norms.

PFLP warned that targeting police infrastructure is an attempt to "disrupt the work of the Administrative Committee." The Front demanded international bodies move beyond "concern" to impose "comprehensive isolation" on the entity. They reiterated that the fascism of the occupation reach the point where silence is no longer an option.

DFLP warned that the massacres threaten the fate of "Trump's plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803." They noted that after retrieving its prisoners, the occupation is acting as if it has a "free hand" to spill blood. Uniquely, the DFLP called for the deployment of "stability forces" on the separation lines.

The Popular Resistance Committees described the so-called "Peace Council" as a "false witness" used to whitewash Netanyahu's crimes. They asserted the aggression is aimed squarely at thwarting the transition to the agreement's second phase.

The Ahrar Movement stated that targeting the police is a deliberate attempt to aid "collaborators, gangs, and thieves" by destroying field control and engineering a "security collapse."

The Mujahideen Movement condemned the "fascist government's" insistence on destroying the ceasefire and held the U.S. responsible for providing the cover to do so.

And now he is saying it out loud. Bad news for the foreign treat lovers in the U.S. Thing is, third world (maybe excl China) will work harder (suppress wages, internal devaluation) to export to the US even amidst Dollar depreciation.

articleThe U.S. dollar fell 1.3% on Tuesday, the most since last April, after President Donald Trump declined to say that the currency had fallen too much.

Speaking to reporters during a visit to Iowa to promote his economic record, Trump was asked if he was comfortable with the current value of the greenback and if he thought it had fallen too much after sliding 10% over the past year.

“I think it’s great,” Trump said of the weaker dollar. “I mean the value of the dollar, look at the business we’re doing. No, [the] dollar is doing great. You know it’s very interesting, if you look at China or Japan, I used to fight like hell with them because they always wanted to devalue their yen ... you know that, the yen and yuan, and they’d always want to devalue it. They devalue, devalue, devalue. And I said, ‘not fair.’ They devalue, because it’s hard to compete when they devalue.”

The Dollar Index, which tracks the U.S. currency against six leading trading partners (but not China), fell the most in a single day since last April 10, when it tumbled almost 2% amid mounting trade disputes and U.S. threats to impose a 145% tariff on China. That same day, the S&P 500 slid 3.5% and the Nasdaq Composite sank 4.3%.

On Tuesday, the dollar also dropped to its lowest level since February 2022.

These civil rights lawyers (the one being interviewed especially) are total fucking libs. But they seem to know what they're doing in terms of the libshit legal system. They are painting a very bleak picture in terms of the prospects of any legal "justice" for Alex Pretti (and probably also Renee Good, since it's mostly just general stuff about the feds being above the law).

As liberals, I think they fail to take into account that the importance of the law is pretty laughable compared to the political pressure created by direct action. But I think it makes it even more crystal clear that if we don't create a monumental uprising to make something snap, the next steps are that absolutely nothing happens legally. The chances of these ICE fascists getting the Chauvin treatment are probably orders of magnitude less (or, equivalently, will take orders of magnitude more cool-zone to order up).

seeing news stories about an OpenAI IPO in Q4 2026. feels like this is the final stage of the scam where they milk the rubes for the last wave of capital, just like when cryptocurrency ads peaked at the Super Bowl

The Hexbear Code of Conduct and Terms of Service apply here.

  1. Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

  2. Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.

  3. Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.

  4. Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.

  5. If you see a link without an archive link, please archive it yourself and add it to the thread, ask the OP to fix it, or report to mods. Including text of articles in threads is welcome.

  6. Low effort material: Avoid memes/jokes/shitposts in newscomm posts and top-level replies to the newsmega. This kind of content is OK in post replies and in newsmega sub-threads. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.

  7. American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.

  8. Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.

  9. AI Slop: Don't post AI generated content. Posts about AI race/chip wars/data centers are fine.
