Perhaps she should've thought about that when she was cheerleading the crowd of neocons who are perpetrating all of this.

Ok. Yes. BUT.

You're against supporting Israel because you're antisemitic.

I'm against supporting Israel because I'm anti-imperialist and anti-war.

We are DEFINITELY not the same.

I don't even think it's (predominantly) her antisemitism that's causing this, because she definitely also (probably moreso) hates Muslims; it's her backwater isolationist mentality that the US should never help anybody but ourselves (totally ignoring how much helping others disproportionately helps us). I wrote a very large portion of Greene's article on Wikipedia in 2021, and one of the biggest throughlines for her support for Donald Trump in 2020 was isolationism ("America First").

It's also why Greene was outspoken against the US' invasion of Venezuela and kidnapping of Maduro. An ardent anti-interventionalist is bound to occasionally be correct when the one intervening is an impulsive, reckless, bigoted, selfish imperialist.

If you look at Tucker's rhetoric, its very similar.

Greene became politically engaged in 2016 when Trump's isolationist, white supremacist campaign message resonated with her (two years later in 2018, she moderated a white supremacist conspiracy group on Facebook whose acronym was "FAP"; not relevant, just bringing it up); there's not a chance in hell her rhetoric wasn't also inspired by Carlson's around that time (Trump's messaging surely was).

[-] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Yeah, they get a paycheck from Russia. Isreal has the balls of over half the Republican party in a pedo-vise, that's the difference

[-] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

Exactly. She's just trying to poison the well of anti Israel sentiment with antisemitic sentiment, which she's full of. Honestly does anyone really give a shit about what she has to say? Why don't we just ignore her?

[-] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 month ago

I'd bet real money that her and all the other "conscientious MAGA objectors" would still vote Trump if they had another chance, though.

[-] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 month ago

Fuck off Marjorie. You don't get to be the "Jewish space lasers" lady and a critic of the GOP. Talking shit now doesn't make you look good, you just look willing to abandon your position when you think it'll score you points. Republicans truly know how to find the weakest, stupidest, least genuine humans among us.

[-] Zephorah@discuss.online 8 points 1 month ago

It’s a white women of MAGA riff. She was given a role within their patriarchal shitshow. She tried to move out of it (wanted a spot in the Senate instead). Was told no. Spoke out against them in response. Now censured by maga.

I’m not defending her. But that is the pattern.

[-] baggachipz@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago

So more of a LAMF?

[-] Luminous5481@anarchist.nexus 5 points 1 month ago

I don't like the feeling of agreeing with anything this vile creature says.

[-] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 6 points 1 month ago

Imma lay it out like it was for me. Very few people are wholly evil. You are the culmination of all your acts. Few people are wholly evil. She has two things for her that are good: she didn't dismiss the Epstein evidence & she is against this war.

Everything else about her is wretched. So yes, she is a vile creature that happens to share two good values with the rest of humanity.

[-] SpiceDealer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 month ago

A friendly reminder that just because a fascist and a Nazi has a disdain for Israel, they're still NOT allies. They're still a fascist/Nazi, they're not to be trusted and/or praised. The left, be they Libertarian Socialists, Marxist-Leninists, Maoists or Anarchists, support the Palestinian cause as it mirrors so many oppressors vs. oppressed dynamics throughout history. Muslims feel obligated to support their fellow Muslims in despair.

Fascists/Nazis oppose Israel out of their irrational hatred of Jews. There's no separation of the State of Israel and the global Jewish community; there one and the same to them. They erroneously believe that they and Palestinian Arabs share a common enemy when, in fact, Palestine's struggle is against colonists oppression. Hamas and Hezbollah may spout antisemitic views but this an extension of their radical Islamism. If Fascists/Nazi had their way, Jews, Arabs and all other non-whites would share the gas chambers. They boast about bogus but widely believed conspiracies: Rothschilds, George Soros, ZOG, Cultural Marxism, Great Replacement, so on and so forth. The Rothschilds and Soros are, indeed, pieces of shits but, once again, fascists/Nazis hyperfixate on their Jewishness.

The media will portray the global solidarity movement as in league with fascists and Nazis. We must make clear that fascists and Nazis are not welcomed. That is why it's important that we, under no circumstance whatsoever, make alliances with fascists/Nazis.

[-] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Man. The fact that the three republican front runners for 2028 are all out-flanking Democrats from the left. Tucker, MTG, Owens.

I'll take "shit we said would happen, but couldn't get people to listen" for $200, Alec.

Ahh, good ok I to the seventh, L7 o clock! Best time it the day, if you ahhh me

[-] Zephorah@discuss.online 2 points 1 month ago

We’re on a timeline where MTG makes sense. That’s not good.

[-] jerkface@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

A clock that keeps perfect time is never correct. This feels like an expression of the uncertainty principle.

[-] _stranger_@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I get "Setting yourself on fire will keep you warm for the rest of your life" vibes from this woman.

[-] Professorozone@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

WTH has gotten into her. Did someone hit her with a "reasonable" stick or something?

She's smelling the distrust around Trump (and his Epstein connection) and is now trying to distance herself from the cesspit that she built - maga. I would not trust this person. Remember what she was during 2020-2023. Do not forget.

[-] cmhe@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

She is an antisemite, so she is against Israel because she is against the Jews. Other people are against Israel because of their governments genocidal actions. They are not the same.

[-] frog_brawler@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

She's changing her views a bit, but it took her family being personally impacted by the GOP healthcare changes and for Trump to condemn her questioning them surrounding said healthcare changes. She's making attempts to try to redeem herself I think. If she continues publicly expressing views like this, I'll commend her for the bravery it takes in admitting, "I was wrong," so long as all of this shit doesn't evolve into a political campaign.

[-] Atomic@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

She's doing what she's always done. And that is too turn the sails before the wind.

The wind is changing direction. And so is she.

[-] minkymunkey_7_7@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Nope, the Grift simply takes a pivot while reading the gullible market. The Grift must always go on. The market is realizing that Trump is turning into a liability and his best grifting conman days are behind him. As soon as Vance comes onto the main scene it will realign with new conspiracies and views.

[-] andros_rex@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

There’s a lot of fracturing and internecine warfare in MAGA land. You can see some of this in Alex Jones struggling to figure out whether he’s still cool with Bannon or not.

There’s always been a split between the Nazi wing and the Christian Nationalists who support Israel because of their apocalyptic fantasies. You’ve also got the ones who only care about abortion, and the ones with Q and adjacent conspiracy theories. It’s an uneasy alliance.

MTG is a Q type. Anti semitism is part of it, but it’s more about the insane conspiracy theory world she lives in. She’s not being “reasonable” she just thinks Trump is on the evil Jewish laser team.

[-] Regrettable_incident@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

She's probably trying to position herself for a leadership role after maga explodes in a great concussion of lies and flying turds.

[-] Professorozone@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

That's horrifying.

[-] C4551E@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 1 month ago

she was a True Believer but finally woke up. still a shit person, but realized she was being lied to.

[-] Professorozone@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I find that difficult to believe. Does a person who thinks Jews want to surreptitiously start forest fires by putting millions of dollars of high powered lasers into orbit instead of paying a nut job with a match, ever "wake up?" We're taking about the same lunatic who thinks "they" can control the weather and sent a hurricane only through red districts. The wacko that literally, as a grown ass woman, followed a teenage shooting victim down the street yelling at him for being an actor and faking it.

I think it's more plausible that she was hit in the head or something.

[-] Hismama@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

She just brings to light what roles they all put on for their political agenda. They can all be bought or led in a different direction when it suites them. We'll probably never know her true opinions.

[-] Mk23simp@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Those things she mentioned all seem pretty aligned to left vs right to me. Welcome to the left, MTG.

Not that I expect her to be in any way consistent about supporting those values. I just think she'd have an aneurism from being welcomed to the left. XD

[-] squidie@feddit.org 0 points 1 month ago

And no more interest in the Epstein files.

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago

How many known Epstein associates have been arrested to date?

I keep hearing "Release the Files!" I've yet to see any New York or California prosecutors going after anyone named. Hell, they're still subsidizing the businesses and fetting many of the individuals involved.

[-] Railcar8095@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I'm not a lawyer, but unless they have reasonable evidence the crimes occurred on their states, the state prosecutors can't do anything.

The DOJ has that evidence, they have been ordered to release it and they refuse. Prosecutors can't ask for underacted files "just in case"

That's why people are demanding the files, so people can be arrested.

I'm honestly surprised how backwards you got it.

[-] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 month ago

Timothy Snyder has talked about how anti-Semitism is going to be the weapon of choice for one faction of Trump's court as they position themselves for the post trump transition. JD Vance will pin all of Trump's crazy shit on Miller and then try to pin Miller on Rubio. Don't be surprised if "Israel is responsible for our imperial decline" becomes the post-MAGA "stab in the back theory" of the 2030s... That's why these fuckers LOATHE progressive anti-Zionist Jews like JVP.

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago

Don’t be surprised if “Israel is responsible for our imperial decline” becomes the post-MAGA “stab in the back theory” of the 2030s…

It's a more rational and evidence-based critique than the "Russia is responsible for our imperial decline" line the Libs have been pitching.

Only problem is that it still just ends in endless wars, a further decline in standards of living, and... imperial decline.

[-] andros_rex@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago
[-] dellish@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Yes but did Charlie consider that Trump would need a really bigly distraction from people talking about how he raped kids?

[-] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Probably worth noting that this is all going to lead to an astounding resurgence/intensification of anti-semitism, so if you're an anti-Zionist Jew... good luck.

[-] DokPsy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I hate that I can't mention I dislike the Israeli gov without fear of being called antisemitic by the same people who complained about globalism and "the Jews controlling the media". Truly the stupidest timeline
