Good to see them not switching to Unreal like seemingly everyone else.
Almost their entire gaming line up, from SF6 to Capcom Arcade Legends runs off RE engine. They have invested millions and decades. There is no way they shift to Unreal.
I thought the same about CDPR.
And Konami with FOX Engine. Seeing them dump it for Unreal on MGS3 remake is so disappointing. Theyre just straight up giving up on a game engine they spent millions on.
Thats like comparing the Zune to the iPod when it comes to gaming engines. It held up Cyberpunk for years.
RE engine is actually great and super agile. They built it with economy in mind so as it ages and evolves, it’ll just keep saving them cash.
They moved quick onto Apple Silicon and made it look effortless.
Interesting that they use C# for the game code. Seems the industry is really standardizing on it a lot, would have never expected that a decade ago.
