Interesting, I never knew that the boyfriend left for the military.

I have heard, but not understood the song in Spannish.

And the english version doesn't mention the military.

Lots of women are called Macarena. It's a name. Lots of songs made that feature people names, like Jolene, Alejandro, Mrs Robinson, Roxanne, etc.
