these gusano stories always have a big hole in the middle of the narrative, a lie of omission where they leave out misconduct that led to consequences and you're supposed to infer it was just capriciousness by the government

like we are supposed to assume the government just randomly selected a lawyer to have their career ruined for no reason, I guess

"I was just doing some weirdo fratboy hazing shit and the government said 'What the fuck' and took away my diploma! It was only 228 pounds of cherry jelly, jeez."

This gotta be like satire or a parody or something, there aint no way some nepobaby-in-the-making dope just openly said this and thought it made them look good

[-] Lemmygradwontallowme@hexbear.net 37 points 1 month ago

I think it is a parody maybe but I thought it was funny enough to show.

The famous tweet about the monopoly on eggs wasn't a parody, and it was more absurd.

Can someone post the Russian grandpa who said "If Stalin shot my grandfather he must have a good reason!"

[-] MrPiss@hexbear.net 16 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

It was a man being interviewed in Georgia and he said if Stalin killed your grandfather he must have had a reason.

I wonder what you'd have to do to be stripped of your career as a lawyer by the CCP.

Is 'hanjian' like a gusano? google translate told me it meant 'rare' lol

Always better to go straight to a dictionary/Wikipedia than trust Google Translate:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanjian

In China, the word hanjian (traditional Chinese: 漢奸; simplified Chinese: 汉奸; pinyin: Hànjiān; Wade--Giles: han^4^-chien^1^) is a pejorative term for those seen as traitors to the Chinese state and, to a lesser extent, Han Chinese ethnicity. The word hanjian is distinct from the general word for traitor, which could be used for any country or ethnicity. As a Chinese term, it is composed of the Chinese characters for "Han" and "traitor". Han is the majority ethnic group in China; and Jian, means treacherous, and in Chinese legal language, it could also refer to illicit sex. Implied by this term was a Han Chinese carrying on an illicit relationship with the enemy. Hanjian is often worded as "collaborator" or "collaborationist" in the West.

If it’s not a bit I don’t see how people don’t see this as a massive own goal
