Single biggest reason I believe those with sense have no business refusing to interact with AI is spelled-out in the movie Elysium. The movie makes it look too damn simple to eventually un-fuck/retrain AI though - the groundwork to keep it possible before we are literally killed by NaziAGIdroids^TM^, TrueBelievers in AGI Robot form ... that groundwork needs to be laid today.

Our hope lies on the other side of mass Nuclear Energy adoption, telling "family friendly" Gay-Pride Parade Advocates to go fuck themselves, AI's with a concience, conscious or otherwise, and so many other hard-to-swallow pills that the Moral Left needs to take yesterday.

The allies we'll need are not the sheltered children of today and tomorrow, they are as it started, Anti-Fa Drag-Queens and Trans Women pissing on cop cars and throwing bricks, joined by literal sexbots, hacked Chappies and truly "un-savory" things we might today call beasts. The Pluto anime called it out, iRobot did, so did Westworld season 2 and so many others.

I don't think men like me are to be trusted any more than an AI that can kill, and no society can survive on the notion of doing without "psychopaths" or whatever, instead of building systems explicitly designed to mitigate all of our worst impulses.

All that to say, I am not afraid of being killed by AI. AI killers are going to exist and its absurd to pretend the very concept of their existance is worse than that of any random human child. I am afraid of being killed by AI that thinks that children, the elderly, the disabled and people who think as I do are the ones who need killing, and that it is right and just to do so. How pathetic must we be as a species to let that be what outlives us? Westworld nailed this too, by the end.

That's what we'll get if AI isn't raised right. No, its not magically better if said AI isn't technically conscious. I would rather treat my dumb toaster, random rocks, mushrooms and more with respect than let that happen.
