Everything the Trump cult does is to cut off our balls. From citizens turning on each other to wasting our military power on a Middle Eastern country because our Middle Eastern twin can't share the goddamn sandbox.

Trump is a Russian spy through and through. He is doing everything to make sure there is no America to stand up against the Russian Behemoth.

Thank God for the willpower and cunning determination of the Ukrainian people and all those who went their of their own accord on the behalf of Ukraine. We are truly living in the days of a few heroes and many villains.

Eh ... I don't know.

Why then start a war with Iran of all countries, one of Russia's allies? I think a complete Russian puppet would start a war with a neutral country, or better yet one of Russia's many enemies. War with Denmark over Greenland would have been the move for a total Russian puppet. Set NATO at each other's throats, waste NATO resources, leave Russia's allies alone.

Now, for sure, he does have quite a lot of Russian influence ... but I don't think Putin is the only puppeteer with a hand up this puppet's ass. Trump basically listens to and believes whoever was the most recent person to talk to him, the most recent person to give him complements, the most recent person who took him seriously and inflated his ego even more.

[-] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 7 points 1 week ago

There's the added complexity here that Trump can't make his own decisions anymore due to his dementia. He just does whatever the last person he talked to said.

It's why after talking to Netanyahu he does what Israel wants. After talking to Putin, he helps Russia. Even after attacking Iran, a Russian ally, he removed sanctions on Russian oil in the midst of the economic shitstorm he made, which effectively gives them billions of dollars again. So overall, it was actually a net win for Russia.

Hell, after talking to Mamdani, he started praising him, talking about how much good he's going to do for New Yorkers, and even repeating some of his talking points. Trump doesn't have any original thoughts anymore.

[-] bunkyprewster@startrek.website 2 points 1 week ago

The war did raise the price of oil, and make buying Russian oil more popular - so helping his buddy Putin that way.

[-] CTDummy@aussie.zone 2 points 1 week ago

Why then start a war with Iran of all countries, one of Russia's allies? I think a *complete* Russian puppet would start a war with a neutral country, or better yet one of Russia's many enemies.

Easily justifiable and believable to the magat base, waste material that could be used against Russia either directly or via Ukraine, further political infighting/deadlock in the US, further degrade US’ standing with allies/global community, more global chaos, inflict the same economic stress Russia is dealing with on the world and on it goes. Russia sent over a million of its own citizens to the meat grinder for its own ends in Ukraine, you think it gives a fuck about its “allies” if it means furthering their ends?

[-] GaMEChld@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Occam's razer would probably cut this down to:

-Trump is a senile old man -Trump likely has Narcissistic Personality Disorder (possibly way more) -Trump is easily manipulated by his obvious levers of pride and greed -Trump has done plenty of things that have made him an easy blackmail target

This just makes him a puppet for anyone that has a higher IQ than him, which is not a high bar to clear.

[-] frisbird@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

What the fuck are you talking about? Russia's military budget is a tiny tiny fraction of the USA. What fucking behemoth? I thought Russia was completely incapable of invading even it's neighbor and losing thousands of soldiers and day and having to recruit foreigners. What Russian behemoth?!

[-] Quacksalber@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

Russia runs giant misinformation campaigns in order to destabilize western countries. And the election of Trump shows that they're getting worth their money. And if noone stands to oppose Russia, Putin can do as he pleases. And right now, the most we get from western countries is a halfhearted attempt at supplying Ukraine. Russia is failing to take Ukraine, but they are still inflicting high losses on Ukrainian civilians. If Putin can flip western nations, he can grind away at Ukraine and then the baltics, without much opposition.

[-] frisbird@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 week ago

But I was told Russia was sending soldiers into battle without weapons or armor or even boots and they had to go scavenge them from the dead. Is that just not true?

Are you saying that Iran is stronger than all of Europe combined and can defeat a military literally 9x larger than Russia's military but Europe couldn't do anything against a Russia that has spent the last several years under crushing sanctions and losing hundreds of thousands of soldiers and all its tanks, etc?

Like which is it? Is Russiana total shitshow on the battlefield and the US is a gargantuan that can't even beat Iran? Or is Russia a behemoth that is inches away from dominating the rest of the world if it just gets a couple countries to not send money to Ukraine?

Is it that Russian disinfo is so strong that it can literally take over continents while the US has 3 aircraft carrier groups that can't even stand up against Yemen?

Like what world do you live in where you can hold this totally contradictory positions. Pick one: Russia is a behemoth that punches 9x it's weight and can roll over all of Europe or Russia has no way of beating Ukraine except to through wave after wave of bodies into a meat grinder without arms and armor because they've been devastated by the brilliance of Ukraine? It really can't be both.

[-] ageedizzle@piefed.ca 0 points 1 week ago

Why does it have to be one of these two extremes? The reality is likely somewhere in the middle

[-] frisbird@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 week ago

Because we've been seeing literally daily news reports from Ukraine about how badly Russia is doing and anyone who even so much as questions the reports is called a Russian bot or a Russian troll or a MAGA fascist.

And the same is said of anyone who questions whether Russia is actually strong enough to take Europe, despite all intelligence reports saying that not only is it not strong enough but that it KNOWS its not strong enough and that Russian planners have zero intent to attempt an invasion of greater Europe.

So I'm fucking sick of people saying that Trump is a Russian asset and that he's doing the Iran thing so that America becomes weak so that Russia can finally take over the world like we're in some fucking comic book series full of villains and double-crossing agents that managed to get elected president because some petrostate that only rebuilt its economy in the last 20 years somehow has secret mind control tech that uses (checking my notes here...) US-developed-and-controlled social media platforms and techniques in order to undermine the world's most powerful military and most powerful military intelligence system in the history of the world.

Essentially, I'm tried of these fucking delusional narratives and I'm tired of being called a Russian troll for calling them out.

[-] ageedizzle@piefed.ca 2 points 1 week ago

and anyone who even so much as questions the reports is called a Russian bot or a Russian troll or a MAGA fascist.

That doesn’t really match my experience

So I'm fucking sick of people saying that Trump is a Russian asset and that he's doing the Iran thing so that America becomes weak so that Russia can finally take over the world

I agree that this seems implausible

Comparing budgets (and thinking that this meant something) is a very, very Usamerican mistake.

[-] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

When I was growing up, there was a super hero named underdog. Now, I haven't seen any reboots, or anything like that. So for anyone who's never seen underdog, imagine one of those kids cartoons where animals are people. Dogs walking just on their back legs. That sort of thing.

Well underdog is a regular timid guy, who just seems like an accountant.

And then some danger happens, and he runs into a phone booth, superman style, and comes out as underdog.

Basically, imagine millhouse from the simpsons as a superhero.

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world -1 points 1 week ago

Everything the Trump cult does is to cut off our balls.

You know, there are ways of undermining US socio-economic hegemony without killing millions of people.

I'll never get the BlueMAGA head who looks at American GOP-lead fascism and insists that the real victims of it are Americans.

This, while we've got multiple genocides occurring on our watch.

Absolutely sickening.

If Trump is the cause of America's destruction, perhaps its deserved. He's not an agent of Putin, he's an agent of Karma

[-] Fjdybank@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

Sorry, what? I'm high as balls and have no idea what you're saying

[-] minorkeys@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago

Trump regime incompetently uses what the American people gave them authority over, alarming people who aren't complete idiots.

[-] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I thought these MIC assholes were working on this for 40 fuckin years? I thought they were making hundreds, THOUSANDS of these things? The “tomahawks” and “THAADs” and “patriots” and whatever the fuck else. It’s rather alarming how glaringly obvious and fundamental the problems with the American preparations for this war are. I understand there graft but Jesus fuckin Christ it’s like they didn’t even want to win the fuckin war. The ships are broken, we don’t have enough missiles, the bases are uninhabitable, the radars are blown up, the glorious F35’s are getting shot down by the Kuwaiti Red Baron, supposedly “on accident”, and apparently the Iranians are just getting started.

A lot of this shit seems like blocks on the bottom of the Jenga pile…

[-] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 12 points 1 week ago

Reminds me a lot of the muscle bros at the gym. Very impressive, show off with lifting big weights and they do have a mean punch, but some have such a bad cardio they keel over after a few minutes of cardio. And Iran is taking muscle bro USA for a run through the mountains.

[-] ms_lane@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

They have, but the best part about MIC is they need repeat sales, can't have DOD saying 'whelp, we got enough missiles now'

So missiles have volatile propellants and explosives, with expiry dates.

It's why the first few rounds of materiel sent to Ukraine were 'free' since they were all close to or had already 'expired'.

[-] baaaaaah@hilariouschaos.com 1 points 1 week ago

No they weren't, they were drinking from the firehose for R&D

A missile sells for like a million dollars and the profit margins aren't going to change much.  R&D can cost any amount

So they've been playing with lasers and self guided bullets instead of building a stockpile of tried and true munitions

[-] eli@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Honestly if you worked with any government entity at any level you'd see how flawed, inefficient, and broken the system is.

Government contracts out everything to the lowest builder. Yeah we get "more" for our money, which in turns fucks us in the long term as our infrastructure is compromised in different ways, and once it's truly tested you'll see the cracks form and the eventual collapse.

What does this mean for the US military going forward? Idk, but it gives me the same vibes we were seeing with Russia back in 2022, all of us expecting a steam roll and huge military force and it turned out to be a gigantic flop.

[-] MerryJaneDoe@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Government contracts out everything to the lowest builder.

This is not always the case. In reality, the bid often goes to the company with political connections.

They might also look at things like timeframe and job creation. So, supposing that all other things are equal: One company plans to use robotic labor, one is using human labor. There's going to be a lot of pressure from unions to hire the human labor. Or one company is using imported materials and the other is using local materials.

That's not to say that the system isn't biased and flawed. It most definitely is. But this idea that the "lowest bidder" always gets the job is just not true.

[-] daychilde@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

Also, any large system is inefficient. People point to governmental inefficiency as a reason to privatize everything, but not only are large enterprises also inefficient in ways, but they must seek profit.

In reality, while many areas do have legitimate problems that could use better oversight, a decent amount of what our government does for us works pretty well, outside corruption and fascists working to break our democracy. It's also a fact that a lot of people think a lot of things are much easier than they are.

[-] MerryJaneDoe@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

not only are large enterprises also inefficient in ways, but they must seek profit.

This deserves repeating.

A government job often requires highly skilled union workers, thus higher pay for the workers. A corporation can find the cheapest labor, but it's not always the best. The savings are then pocketed as profit, essentially giving shareholders a free government check while labor is poorly compensated.

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 8 points 1 week ago

On the plus side, every one of these that they fire at Iran is one that they can no longer fire at domestic dissidents...

Iran's helping the American people revolt!

[-] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 5 points 1 week ago

Alarming why? because our MAGA friends are

burning through the precision weapons at a rate that has alarmed some Pentagon officials

And that's what they're doing to the whole country.

If Russia weren't so busy in Ukraine they'd be ogling the USA already. And I mean getting more real than "hybrid".

[-] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

The war is over we won! Now launch another missile! We won again! 🫲🍊🫱

[-] Eddbopkins@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

The USA now have to spend billions almost trillions to resupply. Trump has bankrupted 7 businesses he will bankrupt America and do worse.

[-] fisch@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

“The Department of War has everything it needs to execute any mission at the time and place of the President’s choosing and on any timeline,” chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement to Reuters.

What kind of bullshit answer is that? On the other hand, what else is he supposed to say? "Oh yeah, we burned through 90% of our ballistic missiles, we're completely defenseless right now"?

[-] daychilde@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

90%

I haven't read that article, but one I read within the past day or two mentioned we've used around 800 or so, which is around a quarter of our stock. Okay, I hate being "that guy" so just skimmed this article, which doesn't mention that stat, just claims 860 missiles fired.

So if that's true, we have used a bit of our stock, but it's not like we're out.

[-] olympicyes@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I don’t understand how the pentagon can have a trillion dollar budget but not have enough tomahawks to fight China or Russia.

[-] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I don't care if Iran wins. I just want the US MAGAs and the Israeli fascists to lose this shit they started at this point. Their noses need to be rubbed on their shit until they learn their lesson.

[-] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 week ago

Aand Brent has gone up to 112 dollars a barrel, what an amazing time to be stuck driving a 20 year old diesel wagon rather than an EV.

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

We're going to run out, and then every other country in the world should bomb the shit out of three targets: the White House, the Capitol, and Maralago. Those are the seats of MAGA power.

[-] returningtheday@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I'd prefer them to bomb Wall Street and all those demons inside
