"Hey I wanna start a shooting fight in your neighborhood and turn the whole area into a warzone. Can you pay me for doing it please?"

Somehow makes sense to some people I guess???

[-] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago

not even this

he started then asked for a refund! I'm sure it does make sense, somehow, I'll start installing shit in people garden they didn't as for and make them pay me

[-] manxu@piefed.social 15 points 1 month ago

I think this is said for the parts of the domestic audience that gasped at the $200 B partial bill. Of course Arab countries are going to pay nothing, but for a moment, MAGA people can feel like it doesn't come out of their pockets.

It's the "wall and make them pay for it" it's the "tarrifs and make them pay for it" now its "war and make them pay for it".

[-] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago

As a Canadian, I’ve wondered lately if we should have built a wall…

Well, Arab countries are paying for it, just not to the US government. They pay to Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, etc. Have you seen the new missile and equipment orders?

[-] FarceOfWill@infosec.pub 1 points 1 month ago

Theyll be buying a lot of replacement oil field equipment too

He failed to get Mexico to do jack shit. What makes him think this will be different?

[-] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Nothing. Nothing makes him think.

[-] Mihies@programming.dev 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

They gave him air force one, don't you think they are up for ~~now~~ more grifting?

An idea from a guy with reasoning capacity of less than a toddler

[-] Eternal192@anarchist.nexus 3 points 1 month ago

I would say toddlers have more reason than him, to me he's more like a brick, you can throw it around and do some damage, maybe build something that collapses eventually like everything he started and led into bankruptcy and also the color is almost the same.

The one good thing that may come out of this, is the Arab countries bankrolling and supporting Ukraine, as the Ukrainians actually help defend against the drone and missile strikes with their homegrown interceptor drones and missiles.

Unlike Russia (supporting Iran) and the US (screwing things up as a policy), Ukraine is proving valuable to them in times of need.

[-] Foni@piefed.zip 1 points 1 month ago

Of course, they are already giving orders to sell the American debt and investments in the global economy to raise the money. Maybe they will spend it on maintaining their economies and not starve, but they may give it to Donald, for asking...

[-] garbage_world@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

I mean, it's their war too. They have the most interest in destroying/weakening Iran

[-] Bloefz@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

The problems that Iran caused the Shia countries in the area are nothing compared to this shitfight.

[-] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 1 points 1 month ago

Saudi Arabia just made a deal with Ukraine for the stuff that works and is affordable. Pay yes, but not necessarily to the USA.
