Wassily Kandinsky. Lots of his works are centered around the idea that colors have "souls," in fact he taught color theory at Bauhaus for a bit.

Cady Wells. He was a watercolor artist in New Mexico. He did truly different and amazing paintings of landscapes and buildings.

Purely visual art probably Moebius. Sort of set the tone for a lot of art I like across all mediums.

Last year I got to see his Sunflowers painting in person at the National Portrait Gallery in London. I didn't even know it was there when I decided to go to that museum, it was a pleasant surprise.
