How much do all those missiles cost? Asking for a friend who would have preferred to have healthcare, education, free electricity, and a fully solvent Social Security system, amongst other peaceful priorities.

Anything making the US military even slightly less able to enforce imperialism and oppress the world is amazing.

Aim for the skies Iran! I'm rooting for a lot more aircraft and a couple of aircraft carriers to be added to that tally!

I wish all American aircraft a lot of "Attention! Thermal signature detected!".

See, if it was called "Epic Furry" instead, everyone in Iran would be a fox by now.

This is where they miscalculated

F-35 is supposed to be stealth, it turns out to be extremely expensive garbage. Taxpayers should be angry at Lockheed

[-] yogthos@lemmy.ml 33 points 2 days ago

I mean it's stealth in one spectrum. Evidently the geniuses who designed the flying Cybertruck didn't consider other spectrums like thermal.

[-] Haquer@lemmy.today 10 points 2 days ago

Stealth in one spectrum, at very specific angles (mostly front facing). It's a joke

[-] yogthos@lemmy.ml 11 points 2 days ago

The whole thing was basically a giant grift from the very start.

[-] flint@lemmy.ml 20 points 2 days ago

tfw the grift is so extensive even the defense industry is a scam

[-] ScientifficDoggo@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 days ago

The defense industry has ALWAYS been a scam though...

[-] fishy@lemmy.today 6 points 2 days ago

Yup, we subsidize them at every step and then pay whatever they ask. Then it all fails to deliver any results.

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

That has been known a long time, called a 'complete failure' by their own generals.
Took some time to prove it since the cowards never fought an adversary that could defend itself.
Despite plenty of data and negative articles many of our sell-out EU vassals 'decided' to buy these also immensely expensive things.

Taxpayers are too stupid to grasp numbers this big.

They only care about the wealth tax on people who make more than 400k a year. That's a number they can understand cause it's roughly a house.

Even though the twats who vote for this rarely hit that level of income.

Didn't an f16 also get hit yesterday over Iraq?

[-] SapphironZA@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 days ago

Thats a lot less than I thought it would be by this stage.

But I also suspect that Iranian military losses are also a lot less than the US is proporting

[-] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

Before they could use missiles from a safe distance like the cowards they are.
But running low on them so they had to start using more planes recently. (Saw this reported last week)
this increases the risk dramatically.
And 4 hits in 24 hrs reflect this.
Let's hope it goes up a lot more.

[-] Dionysus@leminal.space 13 points 2 days ago

I'm so tired of winning.

1,948,800,000 about 2 billion of useless junk destroyed.

[-] how_we_burned@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago

Kc-135s are more like $100m fly away.
