Portal 2: Community Edition (P2:CE) is a community-maintained version of Portal 2 that significantly enhances the way you make and play content, offering new capabilities such as a brand-new scripting system, an improved Hammer map editor and significantly increased limits over the original game.
Huh. So like Mario maker but for portal2?
Portal 2 already had Hammer, and even a more limited Portal 2 specific editor, for making levels. That Portal 2 specific editor is more like Mario Maker. It gives you the ability to place all the stuff that's in the game, but it's very limited in how, and I think you can only do boxy shapes.
Portal 2 already had some awesome mapmaking tools and a solid community. Maybe this is more like Mario Maker 2, where it expands the abilities for mapmakers. Plus some general visual/qol upgrades.

glad to see this kind of work that doesn’t rely on RTX Remix
For a second I thought this was Postal 2 Community Edition.
This could be really cool for the Steam Deck and the upcoming Steam Machine, since unlike Portal RTX, this will be vendor-agnostic (and much less taxing on performance).
