Didn't Iran request something like 140b just for reparations? Unless they're offering 20b per kilo, its nothing more than an insult.
the working iranian logic is that obviously they won't get paid direct reparations (be it for losing face or whatever, haven't happened in long time), thus the toll scheme from the strait
i think extracting reparations from the gulf states is viable. I can totally see Trump throwing them under the bus and dumping the repayments on them, like he did to Europe with the Ukraine war. Then again, that is what the toll effectively is since it's a tax on gulf state oil.
Its not an insult or an offering, its the release of assets that already belong to them. It doesn't count toward the $140b
Offering just 20b in assets back for losing part of their autonomy is insulting.

i mean it's explicitly being offered as a bargaining chip here for exchange, meanings Iranians are being sold what they already possess. Same with sanctions relief.
