As stupid as that ban is, I wouldn't really see what's happening in Ukraine as a genocide, it's moreso a geopolitical/territorial landgrav, unlike what's happening in Palestine. Although it's stupider to say that Ukraine is under genocide as genocide denialism
Oh, the Russians tried. Just because they aren't steamrolling Ukraine doesn't mean it's not a genocide. Genocide is the attempt to exterminate culture.
Enforced migration of an ethnic group is genocide. Theft of a generation of children is genocide.
Russians trying to destroy every other culture next to them has been an ongoing trend for centuries now. I guess we can call it a family tradition, then.
There were probably more civilians killed in Gaza compared to Ukraine, but the total number of people killed appears to exceed that in Gaza. Many people displaced as well. And Russia has a lengthy record of trying to destroy the Ukrainian culture.
Amount of people killed doesn't necessarily constitute a genocide, it's generally a deliberate attempt to wipe out an ethnic group that does
To be fair, there also is more people to be killed and displaced in Ukraine. But yeah, the attempts at cultural erasure and assimilation had begun the moment moscow established itself as separate from Kyiv.
