Don't really pirate games because I already own the 4-5 that I sink all my gaming time into, but it brings me joy to consider that Denuvo might just die over this. Its not the death of DRM in general, but it is a step

Which 4-5 games are those?

[-] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 19 points 5 days ago

Have you tried AC Rogue?

[-] HuntressHimbo@lemmy.zip 2 points 5 days ago

Mostly total war warhammer and dead by daylight, but also Vermintide and Warframe

[-] Charzard4261@programming.dev 2 points 5 days ago

Ayy stumbled across another stuck in the fog!

I'm honestly surprised Bhvr has managed to keep up the good will for this long but I'm not complaining.

Honestly, as a pirate, I don’t use any HV bypasses (personally, a bit to risky for me). However, I’m happy there’s a way to bypass Denuvo. Mostly waiting for Voices cracks (Party! Black Myth Wukong got cracked through the normal ways. Thanks Voices!).

Still find it odd that a DRM, that suppose to be against Piracy also meddles with normal customers gaming session. No internet, no gaming. There were also talks about less performance because of Denuvo.

TBF, the Denuvo bullshit is not unlike the recent ban on teens' social media use: it's a stewpot on the stove, warming, and we're the frog. The more comfy people are with invasive "protection", the closer they are to giving up the rest.

They're just pissed that pirates are bringing "air gapping" back into the public eye. Can't be exploited by their servers' access if you're not online, HV or not. 🤌🏼🏴‍☠️

I’ll celebrate the death of Denuvo just like I did the death of SecuROM back in the day

[-] TheFeatureCreature@lemmy.ca 21 points 6 days ago

Lol. Lmao, even. Rofl, if you are so inclined.

At least your ass still was until you laughed it off.

[-] Zorque@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

I hear that happens when you have no ass to hold it up.

Nature is healing

[-] picnic@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 5 days ago

Nice, now remove the cancer from the games and I'll consider buying 'em

[-] DdCno1@beehaw.org 10 points 5 days ago

There has also been a steady trickle of Denuvo cracks that do not need this potentially risky bypass. Black Myth Wukong is the most recent example I'm aware of.

I thought it was funny that the only thing I had issue with a pirated copy of Pragmata, the day it came out, was I tried to use Optiscaler with it and it didn't like that. Capcom's anti-modding bullshit was more of a hindrance than the actual DRM. 🤣

Also all the stuff the bypass has you do... I already had setup. I literally got Windows Pro when I built my rig just to disable all that shit the bypass needed to turn off.

[-] Couldbealeotard@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

What are the things you disabled from windows?

[-] Truscape@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 5 days ago

Yarr, the high seas have plenty of ships full of cargo! 'Tis a good time to find your treasure, matey.

[-] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 2 points 5 days ago

Have the game accessible to customers or have it locked away. You can't have both.
