Palestine defenders on Thursday condemned Israeli forces’ raidb of the latest Global Sumud Flotilla—which was sailing off the Greek coast while attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza—and the arrest of more than 200 of its participants, with some prominent critics calling the seizure an act of piracy.

Greenpeace International—whose MY Arctic Sunrise is the flotilla’s most prominent ship—said that the maritime convoy’s 58 vessels were “boarded and harassed by Israeli forces in international waters 45 nautical miles west of the Greek island Kythira and 600 nautical miles from Gaza.”

Gaza is an open air concentration camp. I think people don't understand that

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 30 points 4 days ago

Israeli terrorist regime gonna terrorize.

[-] tinfoilhat@lemmy.ml 23 points 4 days ago

Despite the US government guilt-tripping me in the early 00s about downloading a car, they clearly would download 58 fucking vessels.

Fuck Israel and fuck their government. Their citizens deserve better.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

They voted for genocidal politicians since it's creation

[-] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 20 points 4 days ago

Imagine trying to claim that Israelis are the victims here.

[-] woodenghost@hexbear.net 19 points 4 days ago

Their citizens deserve better.

What their government is doing has wide public support among the citizens of the settler colony.

  • 95% of Israelis supported the Israeli forces’ level of use of firepower in Gaza; 58% said they are using too little firepower (Tel Aviv University’s Peace Index, November 2023)
  • 64% of Israelis believe there are ‘no innocents’ in Gaza (Hebrew University aChord Center, June 2025)
  • 82% support the full ethnic cleansing expulsion of Gaza (Geocartography Knowledge Group, May 2025)
  • 56% support expelling Palestinians within Israel itself (Geocartography Knowledge Group, May 2025)
  • 47% want to kill every man, woman, child (Geocartography Knowledge Group, May 2025)
  • 65% oppose the criminal prosecution for soldiers who were caught on video gangremoved Palestinian detainees.

I knew most of these statistics but it's still insane to me that there can be people this monstrous, Israel can't collapse fast enough

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 33 points 4 days ago

Israel has fair election , Israelis are voting for genocing Palestinians

[-] oakey66@lemmy.world 19 points 4 days ago

I’ve said this before. As Norman Finkelstein has said, Israel is a lost society. They support government actions in Gaza to the tune of 70/80%. The whole country needs to be torn apart and given back to the Arab population that lived there. Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Arabs who are indigenous need to have sovereignty of their land. European Jews like myself are a cancerous influence on the Middle East and serve no purpose other than to cause trouble.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Norman oppose a one state solution though

[-] oakey66@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

No. For a long time he would say that a one state solution isn’t possible. That’s different from whether he wants one. I don’t know where he stands these days but his diagnosis of Israeli society, his assessment of the government, and advocacy for Palestinians against a terrorist government is spot on.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

On bad faith podcast. He said that he reject a one state because it is not based on international law

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Well not entirely fair. It is an Apartheid for Jews. Most Palestinians do not get to vote.

[-] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 8 points 4 days ago

Most Palestinians do not get citizenship at all

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Since when East jerusalem and west bank is Israel? People in Israel can all vote and they are voting for pro colonization candidates. Aparteith is not defined by unability to vote but by the intent to dominate, systematic oppression and inhumne acts

[-] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 days ago

Since when East jerusalem and west bank is Israel?

10% of the population of Israel lives in West Bank: they are considered full Israeli residents and are subject solely to Israeli law. Palestinians in West Bank are also subject to Israeli rule and law, but they aren't citizens because Israel is an apartheid country

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago

I know that but again East jerusalem and west bank is Palestinian . Also my initial point was that israelis are free to pick politicians they like and they keep voting for pro genocide candidate

[-] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 1 points 18 hours ago

I know that but again East jerusalem and west bank is Palestinian

Whatever they are rightfully, they are currently Israeli Bantustans

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 1 points 18 hours ago

Anyway my original point was that israelis has a choice to vote for anticolonization but decided to vote for colonialist genocidal leaders instead

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 0 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Since when is any part of Palestine Israel? The point here is the "democracy" only officially colonizing a part of Palestine for their passport segregation while unofficially colonizing the rest.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 0 points 3 days ago

I didn't talk about democracy. I talked about elections in Israel and how arabs are allowed to vote because it is a minority that won't change Israel's colonial genocidal policies. If arab outpace jews in Israel, I predict their ethenic cleansing The west bank and east jerusalem is not Israel

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Palestinians (not Arabs) have intentionally been segregated from Israeli elections with Israeli leaders publicly admitting that it is only to keep the sham democracy going.

[-] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

The west bank and east jerusalem is not Israel

Tell that to Israel, who treat Jews living in Westbank as Israeli residents, and allow their citizens free movement into westbank with the Palestinians getting zero say. Oh, and subjecting the Palestinians to Israeli law. Literally just passed a law mandating the death penalty but solely for West Bank Palestinians.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

I am telling zionists that everybody know that the whole west bank and east jerusalem is palestinian and how judea was destroyed by Roman do it no longer exists

Curious. Are they as divided as we are in the West on domestic and international issues?

I know of a certain man with a funny mustache from Deutschland who would get a hearty chuckle out of this genocidal business, given who is committing it.

[-] cfgaussian@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 4 days ago

On domestic issues that don't involve the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, yes, there are bitter divisions. On ethnically cleansing Palestinians, no, they are virtually unanimous. On waging constant war and stealing land, again, no division, virtually unanimous.

[-] oakey66@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago

No they are not. That is the problem.

[-] Meron35@lemmy.world 15 points 4 days ago
