Idk if it's just me, but I don't see anything about it being down. It seems quite unstable for me

Just to name a few things:

  • doesn't keep me logged in
  • home page view isn't loading (default set to top week subscribed) but All loads. In general, a lot of content isn't loading, or updated, for example there's some posts I created in reddit archive community but the posts aren't showing up in my posts

I do have the most recent version. I'm on an OP8T using Nameless13 if it matters. I'm also on data but it's same on wifi

I end up just browsing Lemmy via browser instead. Anyone experience stability issues like this or is it just normal as an app is being developed?

Edit:it almost seems like it's not even just this app. Wefwef, thunder, and liftoff are having trouble loading content. Perhaps it's an issue with Lemmy.world? But the web version of Lemmy loads fine so maybe it's whatever api has to load into apps? Either way, I have no idea where to go from here :( Guidance or any info would be so appreciated

Lemmy.world is having some issues, but at the same time, Jeroba has felt like a fine early app to a platform going through extremely rapid growing pains. I think friendly feedback is helpful as the platform itself grows and the apps react to platform changes. If I'm correct, Jeroba is dev'd by the same people as Lemmy itself, so it makes sense that it's not got full focus right now, but in a lot of ways is the primary "blessed" client to test new lemmy features with.

Very fair and reasonable points. That's interesting to know about the dev, I had no idea! It's gotta be a shit load of work. I look forward to seeing where it goes from here

It's 2 devs actually, but still, a lot of workload for just 2 guys... sure, they have help with the sudden influx of users, but that doesn't change the fact that they have to review PRs before they're submitted to main/master.

You're Jerboa!

Perhaps it’s an issue with Lemmy.world It's exactly that. See: https://lemmy-world.statuspage.io/

[-] Jaluvshuskies@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

That might explain it then. Thanks for the resource!

Shitjustworks and Lemmy World had Server issues recently. Apparently bot Attacks (probably reddit lol, cope spez)

[-] Anamana@feddit.de 7 points 1 year ago

Never had this problem

[-] Terevos@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago

No issues here. Keeps me logged in, no problem.

Try another app if you want, maybe.

[-] HerrVorragend@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

It has been quite unstable for me during the last three days or so.

Also, it does not grey out viewed or voted posts anymore, which is quite annoying.

[-] n2burns@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago

You're also on lemmy.world, same as OP. As others have pointed out, that server is having issues, it's not Jerboa's fault.

[-] LostMyRedditLogin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Try Connect. It's a good idea to run multiple apps while they're currently being built to have more functionality. If one breaks use the other ones. I was using Jerboa today because I had problems with Connect.

[-] lagomorphlecture@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

Connect has some issues but overall I like it and second the recommendation to add it at least until everything stabilizes.

[-] lolcatnip@reddthat.com 2 points 1 year ago

I've been using Liftoff and my primary client. It's worth checking out.

[-] Jaluvshuskies@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Someone else had suggested Connect, I'm using it rn and I adore it. Will be using this in the meantime, but I still want to give Jeroba and other apps a chance! I'm mostly eagerly awaiting Boost for Lemmy, though, since that's what I used for reddit

I was having some issues with one instance I use, no one else seemed to. I already checked everything was updated and all that. Un-installed, re-installed and now everything seems to run fine. Hopefully that'll help if no other fix is found.

[-] Jaluvshuskies@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I'll try that and see if it improves. No idea why I didn't consider trying that first lol

Thanks!

[-] testAccount@lemmy.one 2 points 1 year ago

Regarding the account 'removal", when Jerboa fails to load your person info it will look like your in Anonymous mode and that your account is removed which is not the case. I have PR that fixes this and JWT session expired problem and some other checks. It might be included in the next release.

[-] Dubois_arache@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 year ago

I have the same problem, the last version keep login you out.

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I've been having issues with the view not refreshing, so I end up double and triple posting a lot. And then it doesn't show that something is deleted, so I try to delete the duplicates several times, give up, edit them to apologize for the dupes, and then it shows as deleted when I save. It's annoying.

[-] shoop@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Stopped working entirely for me after the admins were pushing that server exploit fix a week or so ago. Could not log back in at all and it wouldn't load any posts. Switched over to Connect and has been smooth sailing so far

[-] Jaluvshuskies@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah I feel like I've had this for like 1-2 weeks intermittently. I'll try out Connect in the meantime. Thanks!!

[-] Jaluvshuskies@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Just wanted to update you, Connect feels fantastic and I absolutely love the UI/UX. Thanks again for the recommendation!

I still want to give all the other apps a chance tho, don't think I'm ditching Jeroba quite yet :)

[-] shoop@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

You're very welcome! Glad I could help

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

Did you try deleting the account entirely? Or clearing cache/data?

[-] shoop@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Both technically I suppose. When the server fix was applied the app signed out of the account automatically. I tried several times to re-add the account to no avail. After that I tried clearing the cache and data from Android settings and then add the account again. No luck so figured I'd try other apps for now.

[-] donut4ever@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I only have two issues with it that I've already reported on GitHub. One where clicking on a comment in my inbox doesn't take me to that comment directly, and typing and jumping into a new line doesn't move the page up, which results into the keyboard covering what I'm typing. Other than that, app is solid. Yes, the feed is sometimes a little slow to load, but that's about it.

[-] Madbrad200@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

It's usually the fault of your insatnce (in this case, lemmy.world). It may be worth exporting your subscriptions and migrating to another instance if this is an annoyance.

Usually, clearing app data/cache fixes this, if the issue with the instance itself has been solved.

Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.
