Leaving doesn't help 🤦🏼 it just leaves the Liberals in power to keep doing what's bothering him.

A few MP's sitting as independents denying the gov't a majority would help, don't leve your seat Guilbeault.

It's the same thing that happened in the states when Trump took over. During the first few months, anyone who had any semblance of morality abandoned their post, which was then quickly filled by an orange creamsicle flavored sycophant.

It always seems to me like moral performance. If you care enough, stay and, at a minimum, become sand in the gears, and, ideally, become a force for change. If you don't care enough, leave. If you leave, I assume you don't care enough and are performing if you say otherwise.

In their case, it is very likely that the orange menace would have fired them for disloyalty if they continued trying to do a competent job.

Better to leave on your own terms in that case.

But flat is different than Guilbeault's situation.

He's lost 5 lawsuits, and they also found he broke the law in one of them. That's the real reason he's leaving.

The Plastics Ban Overturn: The Federal Court ruled against the government's classification of plastic manufactured items as "toxic," a major blow to Guilbeault's flagship environmental policy. The Impact Assessment Act: The Supreme Court of Canada ruled that parts of the federal "Bill C-69" environmental assessment law were unconstitutional, forcing the federal government to scale back its regulatory overreach into provincial jurisdictions. Species at Risk Act Violation: A federal court formally ruled that Guilbeault broke the law by taking an unreasonable eight-month delay to recommend emergency protections for the endangered Northern Spotted Owl in British Columbia. The Charter Free Speech Lawsuit: Rebel News founder Ezra Levant successfully sued Guilbeault in Federal Court after being blocked on social media. The court forced the minister to unblock Levant and ordered the government to pay $20,000 in legal expenses. I think it's less of an aha thing and more of a "yeah things are that bad" thing. As in even liberal governments are doing nothing about climate mitigation anymore.
