Yes but there's so much trash inside...

Channels that do informercials 24/7 should be excluded

[-] Qkall@lemmy.ml 28 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I use https://m3u4u.com/ to edit it down... There's a fair amount of good content. Cartoon Network, toonami aftermath and mythos are some of my faves. But there's so much content that there's bound to have something decent.

edit - sorry for those i shared this too some ass just shared it publicly... i had to delete it. this is why we can't have nice things.

Is your list shareable?

[-] Guajojo@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

Can you share your curated list please?

[-] Qkall@lemmy.ml 3 points 10 months ago

I figured this would probably be frowned upon and it looks like only '200 clicks a minute' - which isn't a whole lot if afew people have the same link... that said i PM'd it to you :) please don't share.

but I'll share with like ~3 more folks... as that should be 20 clicks per user. which seems do able.

[-] appel@lemmy.ml 2 points 10 months ago

I realize I'm late to the party, but I'd like to humbly grovel before you with a cherry on top for a copy of your list if that's still an option.

[-] Qkall@lemmy.ml 2 points 10 months ago

Sorry fam, I already gave it out to the number of folks that seems to be safe to keep my link alive. That said, it really isn't that hard to create your own list with the link above. Like they have categories that can be toggled off - like news, religious, infomercials and the like.

[-] appel@lemmy.ml 2 points 10 months ago

Ah, no worries, understood. Thanks!

[-] Ganbat@lemmyonline.com 1 points 10 months ago

Could you maybe make a paste with the channels you've chosen?

[-] SomeoneElse@lemmy.ca 1 points 10 months ago

Could you send it to me too please?

There's someone that made an IPTV playlist with content from Pluto tv. More interesting content

[-] PM_Your_Nudes_Please@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

Why not just use Pluto directly? Isn’t it already free? I’m guessing because Pluto has ads, but I’ve never actually used Pluto so I’m not entirely sure.

[-] blujan@sopuli.xyz 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah but the ads are in the content so it wouldn't change anything i think

[-] Moonrise2473@feddit.it 1 points 10 months ago

I'm using Pluto directly also, and the ads are also embedded in the stream and aren't skippable

It's just an option, maybe someone has an older smart TV that supports IPTV playlists but not dedicated apps

[-] appel@lemmy.ml 1 points 10 months ago
[-] Moonrise2473@feddit.it 1 points 10 months ago

yes it's that

now i remember why someone would want to use the m3u playlists instead of the app. The app is "smart" and forces your region according to your ip address

Would love for this to work with Jellyfin but for me it just poplates the channels section, where it takes me to another page before I can actually watch something and it takes about 10 seconds to load a channel. Not really the analogue TV experience I had hoped to recreate ^__^

Sounds (heh) good in theory, but so far it hasn't been able to pick any radio in my country (Ar) or nearby. Inspector says any attempt to load a radio ends in a HTTP 403 error.

[-] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 10 months ago

this better not be too good to be true :(

[-] ABCDE@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Are there any decent applications for Mac/Android which have good EPGs and load quickly? I have a paid-for IPTV one but Smarters is so flaky.

[-] mp3@lemmy.ca 4 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

For MacOS there's IPTVnator and on Android I'm relying on IPTV Pro.

[-] vaselined@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

Android has apps like OTT Navigator or TiViMate

[-] lud@lemm.ee 4 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I don't get the point of IPTV anymore.

Sure you get it for free or cheap, but you couldn't pay me to watch regular TV in a world with streaming (and Piracy).

[-] Psythik@lemm.ee 15 points 10 months ago

I mean sometimes you just want to sit in front of the tube and veg out on whatever's on. Can't do that with streaming services unless you set up a playlist, and that defeats the point. I miss having that ability so I will be checking this out.

[-] jdaxe@infosec.pub 10 points 10 months ago

I mainly use it for live sports

[-] frightful_hobgoblin@lemmy.ml 3 points 10 months ago

Sports + news

[-] dutchkimble@lemy.lol 4 points 10 months ago

Good for game show channels and music channels too

[-] hottari@lemmy.ml 2 points 10 months ago

I use this to catch up on news from channels like Al Jazeera.

[-] turkalino@lemmy.yachts 2 points 10 months ago

Everytime I've tried to use this list, I've found that most links are mislabeled or dead, and the ones that work are local weather stations for tiny Kansas towns...
