Also when I was in china about 15 years ago, there was a terrorist attack in Xinjiang. The media reported the effect of the attack but nothing about the attackers (although I now know it was probably etim or another Uyghur superatist group), presumably to avoid inspiring prejudice. You'll forgive me if that doesn't strike me as emblematic of an unfair justice system.
