I'd argue that Russia harms more Ukrainians. And that failing to humble Russia will hurt more Europeans.

Because conceding definitely ended things after Crimea.

Russia was prepared to end the war if Ukraine agreed to neutrality, but UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Zelensky not to sign the peace deal.

I'm guessing neutrality wasn't Russia's only condition.

From the Ukrainian perspective, reparations and repatriation of land/prisoners probably would have been a significant requirement. Where did that fit?

And Ukraine would cease to exist if we let it down.
