Many can't afford to even ACCEPT money for free lunches for school kids. So yeah they should absolutely be cool with cutting this too.
A few dozen Red states have put abortion bans in place. For those states, if there are no abortions happening in their state, what is their rationale for channel money to centers counseling pregnant women against abortion?

The anti-abortion counseling centers have become an increasingly popular way for conservatives to sermonize against abortions, with an Associated Press investigation last year finding that states have been sending more and more money to the programs over the last decade.
The Human Coalition, an anti-abortion organization that has locations in Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Texas, estimates it would lose millions of dollars in funds, said Chelsey Youman, the group’s national director of public policy.

Hey, SCOTUS said "states rights," that means "states fund."
Given most of our existential threats are due to population pressures, we need more pro-abortion counseling centers.
They're not population related, they're logistics related. We have technology and resources in abundance to deal with almost all these existential threats... they're just not profitable enough for the people with power to implement.
