I saw Barbenheimer the weekend it came out. Oppie is overrated as shit. I liked it but Barbie was 3x better. It’s apparent in the way women are written and the fact that Greta, Margot and Barbie are being snubbed for Nolan is a disgrace.

Oppie isn’t even his best work and it sure as shit doesn’t deserve a dozen fucking Oscar noms.

Whatever criticisms you have of Barbie being white/pop feminism are absolutely tossed aside when fucking OPPENHEIMER is the one winning shit. Cmon.

They’re giving noms to Poor Things instead of it as the “feminist” film cuz they’re cowards scared of women succeeding behind the camera in addition to in front of it and in the box office, and they’re horny teens horned up by Emma Stone and enraged Margot didn’t do that.

Edit- And before you come at me, I saw Oppie on proper film. Don’t tell me I didn’t get it or didn’t have a good experience or whatever. I liked it. But Barbie was better.

Barbie will lose all oscar nominees, except for Ryan Gosling and I'm Just Ken, to gather as much as clout as possible.

Can't have people watch oscars without those oh so delicious scandals like Will Smith Slap!!!!

I've seen 8/10 of the best pic nominees and would rank them thusly

Zone of Interest > Holdovers > American Fiction > Killers of the Flower Moon > Anatomy of a Fall >>>>> Oppenheimer > Barbie > Poor Things

Is American fiction really that good? I watched the trailer and I felt like I saw all I needed to

It's not a classic or anything (the whole scenario is pretty op only contrived) but it has some solid laughs, decent performances and doesn't overstay its welcome. Obviously the social commentary is limited/lib AF but that comes with the territory. Sterling K Brown is really good and I'd like to see him get Supporting (to the extent that I care).

Damn, I was right about Gosling and Ferrera's nominations but never in a million years would I have guessed that Gerwig and Robbie get snubbed.

I haven't seen the other movies nominated and tbh I don't really care that much about the Oscars, but if The Boy and The Heron doesn't win Best Animated it's going to be adventure-time for me

I haven’t seen Boy and Heron yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it won. I wanted it for Suzume which didnt even get nominated (and is problematic). And I wanted it for Spider-Man but they have bad working conditions.
